By Thursday last week, South African blacks in the country’s northern Limpopo province had destroyed 23 schools, of which 19 were set alight. The burning of schools has always been seen as a legitimate form of protest in South Africa and until the ANC-SA Communist Party takeover in 1994 it was encouraged by liberals.
The burning of a school or a university is usually described as an “uprising” which is considered a positive “revolutionary deed”. A few weeks ago a lecture hall at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg was also set alight.

It looks like the white population of South Africa should have a “Day without a white man day”, when white people stay home and blacks get to see what it would be like to have a South Africa without whites to keep a modern society going.
That song came to mind for me, too. We had slightly different lyrics:

However, in the northern region of South Africa, the Venda tribe which used to have its own “Republic of Venda” under the apartheid system, is asserting its power over the Tsonga people. Three districts previously under Tsonga control have been incorporated into the Venda-ruled territory, leading to the current rioting and burning of schools, post offices and government buildings.

Most probably, the schools will be rebuilt and funding will be taken away from majority-white Afrikaans schools to pay for the damages.
As in the US, when the ferals burn things, they AREN'T "burning their own neighborhoods". Blacks mostly DON'T own the buildings they burn.
The burning is their way of "sticking it to Whitey".
I think a lot of the Black Lies Matter violence/looting is related to more and more blacks having “years without a white man”; as they drop off the bottom of the employment ladder more and more never see white people at all.
True story: When I was watching the Baltimore looting on TV, one of my children asked me why they were doing it. I replied that they did it because they knew white people would come and clean it up. The next morning, as the kids were preparing for school, the news showed a white tow truck driver winching one of the burned cars onto a flatbed.
I live next to Newark NJ; tow truck drivers (and pizza delivery guys, and taxis) are difficult to get there. The white people stopped showing up...

Most of the schooling was a waste anyway. They had affirmative action, so they didn’t need an education. Besides, they always could blame their failings on Whites.
Well here they burn down the whole neighborhood.
I think we have to stop apologizing for slavery, for Jim Crow, for racism...for being white. We are really being punished for being born white since no other group is held perpetually guilty for the sins of all people in their group and for all generations. This is only getting worse with time and if we do not stop acting like whipped dogs our children will suffer even more abuse. If is not just the verbal abuse but also the violent crimes that are racial pay back against us. It is getting to the boiling point—black lives matter is just the inevitable end of 50 years of white bashing.

I read that except for the ones conceived and designed by Europeans, there is not a single multistory building in all of Sub Saharan Africa.
