Peter Thomas, who died April 30 at the age of 91, was a narrator with a great distinctive voice.
He was known as the narrator of Forensic Files AKA Mystery Detectives. He also did many commercials, documentaries, and other voice-over work.
A World War II veteran himself, he was also known for his love of veterans.
RIP, Mr. Thomas

Noooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!
I love Forensic Files!
A VERY familiar voice. Sadly, we’ve lost a lot of these distinctive voices in recent years.
RIP, Peter Thomas.
Actor William Schallert has also died at age 93.
Another prolific voiceover artist.
Forensic Files is one of the few TV shows I love.
Omigosh — another great voice from so many commercials and series appearances. It’s going to be quieter around here for awhile...
Incredibly familiar voice. Peter Thomas. RIP.
Another famous voice is Ken Nordine (Taster’s Choice).
I know that this is not directly related to this thread but who here remembers and misses the voice of Carvel Ice Cream (grew up hearing that guy on the Rochester, NY stations in the 1970s and early 1980s)?
Really, I watch forensic files almost every week.
Tom Carvel! Yes.
Played the father on "The Patty Duke Show", dies 2 months after her.
I’ve been watching FF off and on for more than a decade
And it has occurred to me to look up who the narrator is, and I never do
So sorry to hear this. A great voice. RIP
Crap!
He was one of the best! Second only to Edward Herrmann.
I cant believe he was that old.
It runs constantly on one channel. I watch it alot. Very interesting. Talking about Forensic Files.
I can’t fit anything else on my DVR, because of I have over 200 episodes of FF on it.
Don’t forget that he was also in the Star Trek TOS episode “The Trouble with Tribbles”.
I always turn on Forensic files when I can’t sleep. His voice puts me right to sleep. RIP. Thank goodness for DVR and reruns.
My husband used to think I was crazy. “how can you sleep when they’re talking about killing people and sick stuff?” Now he’s hooked on the narrator’s voice as well.
