Just when you think youve heard and seen it all in the Republican campaignathon, along comes prom king Paul Ryan displaying an arrogance that makes Donald Trump look like the Dalai Lama by comparison. Millions of American jaws must have dropped in unison when chameleon Ryan casually told CNNs Jake Tapper that hes just not ready to support Trump.
Really? Where do I even begin to address such a remarkable display of unflinching arrogance? How about just stating the obvious that the litmus-test conservative crowd still doesnt get it.
Thats right, hard as it is to believe, after ten months of watching Trump swat every political fly whos annoyed him, the pathetic Never Trump crowd really and truly still does not understand whats taking place in America.
Specifically, what they dont get is that this is a genuine revolution. And its not a revolution about Trump. Its a revolution about the corruption and arrogance of the leadership of the Republican Party and, on a broader scale, the entire Washington political establishment.
Thats right, its taken eight long and destructive years, but the Republican Partys base is now in full revolt against the Ryans, the McConnells, the McCains, the Grahams, et al. Youd have to be blind, deaf, and stupid or totally delusional not to have figured that out by now. Nevertheless, the guys who have run things for decades have chosen to stubbornly remain in a state of denial.
They do not understand that the so-called leadership is not the Republican Party. The Republican Party is the Republican voters. Had party leaders been able to do so, they were fully prepared to ignore the will of their rank-and-file members at the Republican National Convention in July and use their crooked, self-serving rules to get their way.

The American people have been voting to punch the Leftists in the nose for 20 years, only to be held back by the collar by the party supposed to be representing them.
They’ve finally turned around and punched the one holding them back.
The Left is next.
“Litmus-test conservative crowd”? The first test is, is he or she, as evidenced by actions - not words, a conservative in the first place? In Ryan’s case, he fails. I have yet to meet a conservative who espouses the philosophy of aiding, abetting, facilitating the liberal/progressive/communist/Marxist agenda...
Sara: Where’s the heavy lifting? If you really had a problem with establishment types you would turn on your mentor Sen. McCain. Was he there for you when your own people backstabbed you?
Perhaps somebody with a better memory or pays more attention an help me with this: I kinda remember Paul Ryan being a young conservative firebrand or something like that when he was first elected. Is there any truth to that memory of mine memory?
However, like most pols, he has contracted the very contagious Washington Fever—manifested by symptoms including but not limited to visions of grandeur, seeking power and money by any and all means, amnesia regarding any promises made prior to first term election, ignoring will of the people, etc.
Many of the Democratic moles in Republican Party have exposed themselves. There are still several important people who claim to support Trump who are looking for an opportunity to stab him in the back. These people can be vicious when attacking fellow Republicans but act like pussy cats when dealing with Democrats. Ryan miscalculated. His total support of the Obama agenda was bad enough. He has a primary challenger. He may not be reelected. I suspect that when he realizes his mistake he will come groveling to Donald Trump.
We shall have to see whether Paul Ryan fights the upcoming Trump Presidency and Trump campaign any harder than he fought (er, cooperated with and promoted) Oboma, Pelosi, and McConnell, and Reid.
My bet?
Ryan fights all right, but he fights Trump. And votes with McConnell, Pelosi, and Reid.
Ryan wanted to straddle the fence between his buds, the establishment/Romney and Trump.
In the end, he did neither and in fact he did damage.
He knew his Bud Romney was still on the fence about running third party, but of course that will never happen but Ryan isn’t smart enough to know this.
Ryan was caught, classic deer in the headlights mistake. Should have said “I’m very interested in meeting Mr. Trump next week”. and then zipped it.
But his mistake was huge, he allowed the non-unity story to progress and even encouraged anti-Trump folks to pour gas on that fire.
Make no mistake, this was a JV mistake and a huge mistake on Ryan’s part.
He either comes out of the Thursday meeting with Trump with a Red hat and a Trump pom-pom or he will not be allowed at the convention and he’ll lose his house seat.
Poor Ryan - he made a BIG mistake and really better act quickly at damage control.
Time for Ryan to try the private sector.
He’s a failure in the public one.
Well DT is meeting him this Thursday and I expect Ryan will be on board Friday or fired come the elections!
If Trump actually does keep 3 or 4 of the promises he has made he will do more for the conservative movement than a trainload of Paul Ryans have done.
Pau Ryan and other faux conservatives like him talk a grat game when seeking our votes, then go to Washington and help Obama move his agenda forward.
The proof of what the real conservative voters (Joe Six-Pack) think is demonstrated by the results of the primary elections.
Not by what Paul Ryan says.
The vocal “conservatives” like Ryan who get press time for their statements of doubt about Trump are the same people who lied to us election after election.
That’s the same Paul Ryan who campaigned and won election making promises to conservatives then broke every one of them as soon as he took office.
Where is the fight against Obamacare that he promised?
Where is the conservative budget he promised?
Where are his conservative spending reductions to cut deficit spending and reduce the national debt?
I hope Ryan is banished into the wilderness of failed politicians for all time.
Paul Ryan is is pissed there will be no contested convention where the GOP ELITE would have crowned him king.
The problem is not that Ryan disagrees with Trump. It is the arrogance evident in the way he said what he did about not supporting Trump. There are many more politic ways of saying what he did without sounding divisive.
All Ryan did with this remark was give the democrats something to use during the general election. What he did was contemptible and he should not only be asked to resign the speakership, but leave congress entirely. This is a disgrace and it is unthinkable a Republican would do this to a fellow Republican.

Does the same standard, no arrogance or divisiveness, apply to Donald Trump?
“The Arrogance of The Prom King(Paul Ryan)”
Paul Ryan volunteers to step down as convention chairman if Trump asks him to do so:

Is that arrogance on Ryan’s part?
Ryan better watch out or they’ll put another dose of that
stuff in his glass of water if he messes with them. -
I remember him furiously gulping water like a thirsty camel
during his debate with Grinning Joe Biden. I suspect that
some Democrat spiked his pitcher of water. - I guess he was
lucky in retrospect that they didn’t just off him.
