My dad had a 3 hp...then 5...then 7. The boat was small and he had to use mom as a counterweight on the 7 hp. We still have the little Penn Yan from the 40’s in the family.

That took me back a few years to one of my very first paying jobs. I was 10 or 11 years old and I worked for a farmer as basically a counter weight. I rode the planter and kept the hoppers full which was the very easy part.
I was on that rig 10 hours a day, eating and breathing dirt for $5.00 a day. I was happy when planting season ended.
