Letters to the Editor
How can Speaker Of The House Paul Ryan stand in front of a nation that overwhelmingly voted for Donald Trump to be the Republican nominee for President and say hes not on board or ready to support a member of his own party? That is the type nonsense primary election voters rebelled against in voting for Trump in the first place. The big-shots in both political parties just dont get it that the nation is sick and tired of the status quo! In this election, the electorate will change what the party leaders wont. Or perhaps new party leaders are in order, as well.
Bob Pritchard, Homer Glen
To all the pouting Republicans who cannot or will not accept Donald Trump as your candidate for president, all I can say is that you had your chance and you failed miserably. The choice is now clear: Hillary Clinton for the next four years or get behind your candidate, Donald Trump, and support him. There are no gray areas here. You blew it when you were afraid to stand up to President Barrack Obama; he played you all like a Steinway piano.

Paul Ryan is a decent guy. I have met him. Unfortunately, the moderator is afraid of a little free speech. This used to be one of my favorite websites and is still my go to. I used no foul language like some of the other writers, but the moderator doesn’t agree so he removes my comments.
Wow, is this going to be life and editing in the Trump world? Unbelieveable. II was surprised how many people only like Trump, now I know all other comments by non-Trump supporters are deleted by the moderator. Shame on you. I guess this site should no longer be called “Free Republic” any longer.
Ryan is a conservative. I say give him a chance. He is in a no-win situation with Obama as president. You take the small wins until you have the opportunity to get the larger wins. I trust him.
“I dont know why these guys dont use PayPal. As much as I dislike their anti-gun stance, they ARE a lot easier to use than going through the CC drill.”
I’m sure it’s because they can’t collect contact data via paypal.
“He is in a no-win situation with Obama as president. You take the small wins until you have the opportunity to get the larger wins. I trust him.”
Sorry, but when the going gets tough, the tough get going, and Ryan isn’t tough. In the last presidential election he was even worse than Romney in the “choking” category. And now he’s playing games with Trump that serve no useful purpose for anyone but himself and his worried House members. We would be manifestly better, if we had a completely new roster of Repubicans in the House and the Senate. At least Trump isn’t affraid to say what’s on his mind whether it’s “correct” or not! It isn’t enough to be “a good guy.” if you are not effective, and Ryan isn’t effective.
My thoughts exactly. With his understanding of the budget, I thought he would knock it out of the park. But during the debate, all that understanding seemed to go out the window.
I have to admit I voted for twettledee and tweedledum in 2012. Let’s get rid of Ryan and get someone who is more than a nursery rhyme buffoon.
Does he tie his own shoes?
A decent guy does not work against the presumptive nominee of his own party.
Trumps surrogate, Sarah Palin, is already on her way to campaign for his opponent.
Ryan will have a second IQ test administered later this week.
I predict he will pass this time.
That doesn’t mean he’s smart, it simply means that this time he knows which answer is wrong.
I trust him.

Either you like his open borders/amnesty agenda because it profits you in some way or you are a fool.
Wow. I just read the replies...Comment 29 got removed from by the moderator because obviously the moderator didn’t agree with the comments. It had no profanity only a difference of opinion...but I see this comment and the comment before got through. What kind of people talk like this? Do you need to talk so vulgar?
Ryno Ryan isn’t a conservative. He’s a political hack sell out. There is no Obama agenda too foul for him to fail to cave to. What do you mean he’s a decent guy? What he shook your hand and made a little small talk? That’s being a politician. Paul Ryan subscribes to big govt, cheap labor amnesty and globalism.
I have never heard Paul Ryan name even one useless or rogue agency of govt he could bear to shut down. He’s always worried about running out of money for SS and Medicare but never have I heard him worry about the US running out of welfare money.
If you are looking for backup on FR for your bromance with Paul Ryan good luck.
He probably knows he can’t win this argument. He’s setting himself up for a Presidential run in 2016 or 2020 and he thinks an “I support Trump” statement will hinder that.
Paul Ryan? Isn’t that the guy who got his clock cleaned by the braindead, Rimshot Joe Biden back in 2012?
I didn't "support" Romney, McCain, or Dole, but I did vote for them. And, they lost.
They didn't lose because I "only" voted for them, they lost because they didn't meet the needs of a conservative counter balance to the progressive agenda & they didn't meet the goals of over 50% of "the party". The party being GOPe and GOP other!
I won't stand in a crowd and waive signs for Trump and I won't argue that a possibly reformed liberal is now a died in the wool conservative and not just a populist poser. (SNL's "Tangerine Tornado")
But, I'll vote for him because he isn't Hillary or Bernie(or Biden) and I know there's a good chance that he will lose just like the others.
Love him or hate him, Cruz (SNL's "Satan") walked he walk as best he could when it wasn't popular & while Rubio plead for amnesty, Kasich cried and did cameos on FOX, and Carson just smiled a lot. He's been punished for that and can fade away or serve as a yeoman if he chooses to do so.
I don't know if Trump will be the next Reagan or the next Obama, but I'll vote for him to avoid a known evil.
Am I a Paul Ryan fan?
Not hardly, but I fully expect him to vote for Trump just as I will
For those who think Trump is a ‘vulgarian,’ I say Ryan has absolutely NO class.
Our country needs to wake up.
Do you think Donald Trump wants to give up his successful businesses just to run for president.
Answer is NOhe sees what is happening to our country, the country he loves too, he thinks he can bring us back to the great country we have loved for so long.
Think what a sacrifice he is making.
He has to be losing millions of dollars.
While he is working for our country the establishment in Washington (the ones that helped to bring us down) are doing everything they can tom stop him
The establishment (Ryan is one of them) don’t think about our country except for what they can take from us to build them into big fat politicians.
WAKE UP AMERICA
