How we can re-balance our society to meet these needs should be the primary concern for the pointy-heads who call themselves politicians and want to brush under the carpet issues of immigration and blue-collar unemployment. Trump is addressing this brilliantly and reaping the electoral success. I have no doubt that he will trash the outdated views of the Geek-in-Chief Hillary Clinton and become President.
Like Reagan before him, Trump is the great communicator of his time, and while his style might not be to everyones taste he is in sync with the zeitgeist. He is bringing back disgruntled voters who had given up on the whole process and is giving them hope. Those blue-collar workers who always looked to the Democrats to give them a break now look to Trump. The under-educatednormally ignored and despised by the mediaare getting their moment to speak, and theyre not as dumb as they look. Theyre actually street smart, full of common sense, and way ahead of the curve on this.
Maybe the geeks who rule us at the moment, who are not doing a very good job of it, need a few extra classes in reality. That's why Donald Trump gets my vote.

Undereducated. The usual canard from the “intelligentsia” who gave us Socialism, Eugenics, Keynesian Economics, Common Core and other crazy destructive theories. A pack of fools who had their abilities to observe and think destroyed by being taught volumes of false data in college. Having now made a right mess of things and finally being called on it they fall back on more vapid generalities.
As HL Mencken rightly pointed out, we have an intelligentsia that is not intelligent.
Excellent insights!
A power tool is something operated by an uneducated undocumented worker paid to do your bidding. An engineer is another class of immigrant hired to do our bidding. What is necessary and what is possible are lost. You underedumacated scum, you bring us the decisions. We will make them. We decide.
Don Trump, Jr. brags he can operate a D-10 Dozer. We don't even let folks like that work on our roads in D.C. [you should see our roads. The dirt roads in West Texas are far smoother and better maintained].
I’ve thought the same....don’t tell others you’ll be voting for TRUMP. HOWEVER< that theory is totally bogus. This last week had computer issues and took it into a repair shop. This was on Indiana election day. Spent about 45 minutes in the shop which had seen our business 3 times prior. In the course of discussion, mentioned the computer needed to follow the race that evening and to see the celebrations which ensued. Owner then asked ‘If you don’t mind my asking, who are you voting for” Told him TRUMP. Shocked, he said ‘Me, Too!! Stating the night Donald threw his hat in the ring the man wept tears of joy that there was as last some one who spoke for Americans first. DH and I left that place of business with a peace within us that no matter what was thrown in our direction, we would see some form of victory. THIS IS A TRUE AND FACTUAL STORY!! An hour after we arrived home, DH saw the headline on DRUDGE “TRUMP WINS IN A LANDSLIDE IN INDIANA! Can’t tell me the Lord doesn’t work in mysterious ways!!
Regarding your tagline- was it ever? :-)
One place where I really depart from most of the other freezers is that I do not believe there ever were ‘good old days’. People as individuals, people as groups, people as governments haven’t changed much; at least half are below average and I would bet the average Egyptian, Roman or Han Chinese would have identified with your tagline just as much as someone desperately pining for some ‘golden age’ of America.
The problem with thinking that anger at the last 8 years is going to help Republicans is that a lot of people remember the 8 years prior to that all too well. It was not Obama who was in charge as 2007 and 2008 hit our 401ks or took our homes (have you seen “The Big Short?” Nor did he fight 2 unfunded wars that still have to be paid for even though many now feel that one of those wars was a bad idea and helped lead to the current Syria and surrounding messes. Frankly I think a lot of the Silent Majority just don’t want to tell anyone how angry they are and start a fight. It may not hurt Hillary at all.

I personally don’t think it’s just about anger over the past 8 years. I think what’s happening is that a great many people have come to the conclusion that their opinions don’t matter - even when the person they’ve voted for is elected (both sides feel this way).
They have been lectured to about not being ‘tolerant’ enough. They’ve watched as they’ve been marginalized in society. They feel that they are strangers in their own land, and what they’re hearing from politicians and the media are messages about the inevitability of their way of life being over (e.g. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3428669/posts ). Those are the things driving what is clearly a voter’s revolt. We’ll see where it leads, but I think it’s safe to say that ‘business as usual’ is over.
Great movie!
