Donald Trump’s coronation as the GOP nominee will present plenty of opportunities for Republican amnesia and short-sightedness. The easiest thing to do, if you’re a conservative Republican, is to dismiss Trump as an aberration, as if his candidacy emerged out of a whirlwind. But that’s the work of revisionist historians, not honest observers of the last decade of Republican politics.
Consider this recent tweet by Meghan McCain, the daughter of John McCain and now a commentator for Fox News:

The myopia here is staggering. Although she didn’t respond, I asked Meghan if she remembers an obscure, half-forgotten figure named Sarah Palin? I asked because, in so many ways, there is no Trump without Palin. Palin was Trump before Trump. The rambling incoherence, the vacuousness, the reality TV theatrics, the ghastly marriage of ignorance and confidence – Palin brought this to national politics long before Trump did.

But their savior, the magic Negro couldn’t string a sentence together without a TelePrompTer in front of him. He was looking at Kumon to help him learn to read, but he couldn’t figure out in which of the 57 states he would go.
Let’s keep those postcards flowing... to Paul Ryan (and our local reps and senators)... Every Monday until Ryan and all the others are “ready” to support Trump.
It’s not over until Trump is actually the Republican nominee, not just the “presumptive” nominee. Everyone stay focused, and keep voting Trump in the remaining primaries. Keep focused until February 2017.

I didn’t see Palin do that much outside of her basic endorsement and a few appearances beside Trump.

Another reason to love Sarah.
Her early endorsement: I cheered it while so many here threw her under the bus, and called her dead to them. Her instincts, once again, were spot on.
I hope she gets a cabinet position. Watching the heads of the collective and individual lefties (and GOPe toadies) would be worth ten years of any other entertainment.
Interesting the author accuses Meghan of myopia when he himself is myopic. Classic psychological projection.
If poor Meghan wants to be relevant she needs to go the route of Dan Marino. Lose 40 lbs and become a spokesperson for nutrasystems.

Ms. McCain has a personal vendetta going on towards Trump for his insulting her father and has said as much on Fox’s “Outnumbered”. Having led a very protected life, she needs a little more time on the vine to mature before she can be taken seriously.
I scold conservatives for supporting her father.
