Trump is the presumed nominee, and his fiercest critics on the right havent budged. Trump is quite distinguished from who he was running against in a number of ways, and he may face a challenge in converting their supporters to his side before November.
A new poll from Morning Consult found...

All eyes on Hillary.....
Notice I used the word “many”?
Yeah, so what? I noticed that you used “cult of personality” which was clearly a slam on Cruz supporters. If there is any “cult of personality” it would apply to Trump as he is running on his personality. He has no legislative history. Cruz has shown that he stands up and fights for his beliefs.
Give it up. Trying to be reasonable with the rabid trumpsters is only inviting scorn and hate.
POLLS?
Why do we place such importance on polls when they have so often been so wrong and obviously used as news shapers more than news reporting?
Hillary Clinton was a slam dunk in WI vs Sanders up until the last couple of weeks and Clinton had a 7 point advantage in Indiana right up until the final day before the election.
CNN poll has Clinton by 13 points while Rasmussen has Trump up by 2 points. WTF!
Poll after poll says Trump has high negatives but in the primary races turnout has set all time records for Republicans and the voters turned out for Trump.
We know that many more Dem voters have switched to Rep than vice versa and new registrations are heavily in favor of Republicans this cycle.
In 1992 at this time in the race for the WH Bill Clinton trailed Bush by some 30 points and in 1980 Reagan trailed Carter right up until near the end of October.
In a Gallup poll on October 26th in 1980, two weeks before the election, Gallup had it Jimmy Carter 47, Ronald Reagan 39. That election two weeks later ended up in a landslide that was so big that Carter conceded before California closed.
The New York Times verified this poll,
Ronald Reagan, who trailed President Jimmy Carter 47 percent to 39 percent in a survey completed on Oct. 26, 1980.
As did Wikipedia,
Arguably the most important event of the entire 1980 presidential campaign was the second presidential debate, which was held one week to the day before the election (October 28).[24] On October 26, two days prior to the debate, Gallup released a survey that suggested that Carter was leading Reagan by a margin of 47% to 39%.
A Gallup Poll of July 26, 1988, showed Michael S. Dukakis leading George H. W. Bush by 17 points. The New York Times reported,
In the aftermath of the Democratic National Convention, the party’s nominee, Michael S. Dukakis, has expanded his lead among registered voters over Vice President Bush, the probable Republican nominee, according to a Gallup Poll.
Until things got serious, most Cruz supporters’ second choice was Trump (and visa versa). Then the pushing and shoving started. I do think, now that the nominee is chosen, almost all Cruzaders will come around and support Trump. I’m not as confident about moderate Republicans. But, how many people are we talking about? Plus, Trump will get many more Democrat-crossovers than Clinton will get Republican-crossovers. The net crossover vote will be very positive for Trump.
To be honest, Trump won because he talked about the issues.
Clinton trailed Bush in this race at this time by 30+ points as I recall.
My entire point is the polls this far out mean nothing and we all know how of late how completely inaccurate they have been. They were way off the mark in the 2010 midterms and much worse in the 2014 Midterms showing the Dems in much tighter races than was the outcome.
It is a combination of bias and the public’s avoiding these phone calls because of the inherent mistrust in the media in general.
But you ignore Cruz’s past policy positions where he actually promoted and voted for Iran corker, TPA, TPP, and massively increasing H1B visas? Why do you ignore all of those globalist voting positions??? And his wife who happens to be a globalist who wrote a policy paper for the CFR on the north american union?
Amazes me that 29% of the Cruzers are going Hillary. They are supposedly these high and mighty conservatives who act like amoral, victim progressives. (The Trump people are all haters and mean to me!) They are probably liberal-tarians.

The brutal, inescapable fact of the matter is that Cruz is a globalist. I say this based on his Bush apprenticeship, marriage, actual voting record and actions pertaining to border infiltration and H1B visas. Hillary is also a globalist. Trump is not. I’m honestly surprised that only 29% of the Cruz supporters will go to Hillary. I suppose that is the hardcore Cruzlim bunch. The other 71% have changed their minds or actually are Americans first of all.
It is truly sad it has come to this on this site.. so many of us have been friends here for years.. MUCH of the anti-trump croud are not necessarily because of Trump, but the words said here on THIS site..
Sounds simple, but it’s not. It extends from how he presents/projected his message.. straight to how FReepers here threw it at other FReepers. Enough so, that, even if we were “on the fence”, pushes people further. It p!ssed many of the FReepers off enough to go the Romney route.
I don’t need to add about what he has said to insult people that also did it.. I don’t want to go into detail, but it will cause another flame war... Just want to say what I see/saw here on this specific site; and what has brought it down this election cycle... (there is much more, but I don’t want to feed the fish OR trolls, there are many noobs here doing that)..
Anyway, I have been biting my tongue for months now, hense very few posts.. It has been, and is still nasty here... Many FReeper friends have changed so much this election cycle I don’t want to speak up because the the hate (eiher side, and I will not say which is heavier since both sides will argue)..
I just want peace here again.. please blame no one.
That 20% of Cruz supporters supporting Clinton are NOT conservative and never were. They were snakes in the grass.
