When it comes to religious liberty debates, big businesses dont want the people to decide.
Or at least they dont want the people of Missouri to decide....
...Missouri was debating a bill that, if passed, would have gone to the people to vote on, not the governors desk.
....But apparently even allowing people to vote on a constitutional amendment that protected the religious liberty of both those opposed to and in favor of same-sex marriagea bill that the citizens of Missouri were free to reject if they opposed itwas a step too far for big businesses.
[Opposing religious liberty for Christians is an organization called] Missouri Competes [which] includes Pfizer, Marriott, MasterCard, Commerce Bank, Salesforce, Nestle Purina, and Anheuser-Busch in its coalition, according to its site.
....An Associated Press/NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll from December found that a whopping 82 percent of Americans (including 69 percent of Democrats!) thought it was extremely or very important that [Christians] be allowed to practice their religion freely. That hardly supports the idea that the nation is ready to be up in arms over a vote in Missouri that would let citizens decide whether to protect religious liberty or not....
...Missouris religious liberty bill died in committee, thanks to Democrats and three Republicans.

Wait until the freedom of these people to do business is infringed.
“When it comes to religious liberty debates, big businesses dont want the people to decide. “
Tell that to Target brass, who managed to urinate on 99% of their customer base !
$$$$ tops religion these days. Businesses are not interested in anything but their bottom line.
Squash? Really?
Maybe they mean quash.
Idiot Nathan Deal bowed down to corporate amerika over GA’s religious freedom bill.
The freedom goes to the coprophilic queers, the lesbians and other mentally ill degenerates. The pervert alliance is the new religion that all will be forced to bow to.
Wait until Conservative voters quit defending them against Socialist Democrats. They are gonna rue the day.
Big business has the biggest influence, but a lot of small business is involved too. Last summer here in Indiana, the local Chamber of Commerce in my town ran like scared rabbits to get “Everyone is Welcome Here” signs printed up, and soon they were in the windows of every business in town. They are still there, and some nearby towns have been drafting their own LGBT anti-discrimination ordinances. Never mind that none of these businesses here (diner, drugstore, cellphone store) ever say “no” to anyone’s business, and would never be in the position of having to serve a homosexual event. And there was not a peep from anyone in any C of C about the death threats and general harassment suffered by the operators of Memories Pizza over in Walkerton. They didn’t refuse to serve a homosexual event. They just got trapped by a reported who asked, hypothetically, if they would cater such an event and they said no. A shameful, cowardice-ridden situation all around.
I have come to hate corporations even more than the left does. I am sick of all the fake commercials with acoustic guitars and soft pianos, touting “love” and “family” and “diversity” and “the environment” and “partnering.” And the messages either articulated by a string of “diverse,” politically-correct voices, each presenting a fragment of the message, or - alternately - by effeminate, namby-pamby male voices.
