There were rumors that Kasich was funded by Trump to split the non-Trump vote (which amounted to between 50 and 70% of the votes!). I guess Trump doesn’t need him anymore.

If Kasich hadn’t stayed in, we might have gotten a decent candidate. Oddly enough, surveys showed that Kasich would have won against Hillary, if she turned out to be the Dem candidate. Kasich might possibly have lost to Bernie, though. Trump would lose to either Hillary or Bernie, but more closely to Bernie, because they for some reason seem to have the same voter pool.

There is a whole lot of stuff that happened behind close doors to prevent a good candidate from securing the nod.

Kasich was funded by #nevertrump to pick up more liberal GOP votes that wouldn’t have gone to Cruz. Note that Trump got most of the benifit from Kasich dropping out in IN.

There is no evidence to support the idea that Kasich would win against Killery.

Right now in a nice polling question, sure. After Killery released the hounds of hell on him, and the lapdog mediots did their number on him, Kasich would have finished in single digits against her.

Rumors were that Kasich stayed in because he was hoping someone would need his votes to make it to the 1237.

Since Cruz dropped out. That plan dropped out as well.

Donald Trump WILL become the next President of the United States.

Re: #19. Plausible theory. I would not be at all surprised if it turns out to be true.

We do have a decent candidate. But if you mean "someone other than Trump", that's a pipe dream.

I heard the same thing about Rubio, then he dropped out and - whadda ya know! - many of his voters went to Trump. That's what always happens. Most voters don't pick a candidate by running down a list of the issues and choosing whoever matches their ideas. They decide with their gut. Then when their guy drops out they choose another guy the same way. One of the most powerful influences on gut decision making is the bandwagon effect - this guy is a winner, I'll go with him.

If Kasich had dropped out when Rubio did Trump still would have been the winner, and most of his voters would have gone for Trump.

AAHHH YES; Kasich would have beat Clinton in a head to head during the general election.
And all I need to fly to the moon is to sprout wings out of my back and grow a rocket out of my ass.
Kasich was about the most boring, uninspiring, dullard in the entire pack.
Oddly enough, (you got that part right), surveys showed that Kasich would have won against Hillary.
Factually enough; surveys show whatever who writes them, want them to show.
It’s called propaganda, get a cup of coffee and wake up.
