Kasich’s not a bad guy, he’s just part of the old guard... and if there was one failing of Reagan it was giving Bush the VP slot.... Trump needs to do better, but Kasich is an innocuous choice to most people.

I expect Trump’s pick to be someone who’s selection would come across as BOLD, and Kasich just isn’t a bold choice.

Kasich has pushed Leftism further than most of his GOP-e companions have. I'd consider that being a "bad guy".

Sessions seems like he would be the most likely VP pick, but he may be more useful in the Senate (don't want to risk a GOP-e replacement). I'd say Allen West, but I think he should take the Secretary of Defense position. I suspect Trump is considering many unorthodox candidates, but staunch conservatives (Steven Seagal and Hulk Hogan come to mind).

Agreed. Kasich is far from the worst governor Ohio ever had, but he was marginal at best. He is lucky that, unlike Rubio, his home state voted for him.

Beyond that, he went nowhere. Finishing ahead of Cruz in a handful of ultraleft states which the GOP has no hope of winning means nothing.

Trump was classy in his praise of Cruz last night and his silence on Kasich. It makes this former supporter of Ted Cruz an enthusiastic Trump voter rather than merely a reluctant one.
