Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, abruptly suspending his Republican presidential campaign Tuesday night after another crushing primary defeat to Donald Trump, assured emotional supporters in Indiana that they helped grow an extraordinary movement declaring his team left it all on the field in their final push.
ADVERTISEMENT "It appears that path [to victory] has been foreclosed," Cruz told supporters in Indianapolis. "Together, we left it all on the field of Indiana. We gave it everything we've got, but the voters chose another path, and so with a heavy heart but with boundless optimism for the long-term future of our nation, we are suspending our campaign."
The underdog candidate, who all along had vowed to force Trump into a contested convention in July, stunned supporters by dropping out following a big loss in Indiana. Some people in the crowd could be seen crying and hugging each other.
But Cruz indicated he has no plans to fade away.
I am not suspending our fight for liberty, Cruz said.

WOW, please just leave the children out of it. No need to attack someone’s children.

That’s not realistic. While politics is rough-and-tumble and pups should stay on the porch, Trump wasn’t just playing rough-and-tumble politics. He made it personal and went after Cruz’s family.

No attack on children made. Please read my followup responses to the criticisms if you want to know how I truly feel.

True enough. But at least it wasn’t a tent revival harangue, but a statement of the principles he believed in, which were good, even though the man failed.

Let it go. Most of us who supported Cruz are getting in line behind Trump. Winners can afford to be gracious. As expected, little graciousness has shown through the comments on this thread.

Well other than smacking Heidi in the puss about 3 times Cruz’s speech was like the last day of school. No more Cruz for awhile. :-)

Now Trump can turn his fire (figuratively) on Hillary!
Cruz did the right thing by dropping out. I’m leaving it at that and now look forward to The Donald crushing Berny and Hillary! This is going to be soooo sweet!

Gracious indeed. And thanks for the example.

A. Who paved Cruzs way into Princeton & Harvard? Who paid? Without connections its very hard to gain acceptance. He did not come from an Ivy prep school. Hispanic foreign Canadian status? Not worth much for a scholarship. He hasnt whined about paying off student loans. Someone had to help Cruz land SCOTUS clerkships. Has there been an invisible hand behind Ted due to his fathers past?... Poppy Bush? What a pathetic bunch of horsesh*t. Cruz just finished paying off his student loans seven years ago. As for how he got a SCOTUS clerkship? Alan Dershowitz said Cruz is off-the-charts brilliant and among the brightest students he ever taught. It's not difficult to understand that when a respected Harvard Law Professor thinks so highly of a student that said student would easily get a SCOTUS clerkship.
Go sell your horsesh*t somewhere else. It doesn't add to FR in any way.

Your cheap shot is endemic of why there is a never for Trump movement.
I would advise you to let it go, or your attitude will become as infectious as the campaign itself was. The only result would be Trump losing to Hillary.
A classless act.
Let’s drop the it, and team up to take down the left before they finish off what remains of this once great nation.
