“Cruz is done politically.”
I agree. When the primaries started I was thinking that a Trump/Cruz ticket would be a winner. But after watching Cruz display a level of deceit, treachery, and incompetence I never imagined he had I have completely changed my opinion of him from positive to negative. If I were Trump, there is no way I would want such a snake anywhere near me. I could never trust a thing such a fool would say and would question anything such a dolt would do. The manner in which Cruz played this thing showed he lacks ong=term vision, common sense, and simple honesty. If I were in Cruz’s district in Texas, I wouldn’t even vote for him to continue in office.

What I really don't want to see is people staying home, like they did for Romney, and get Hillary elected.
I really can't see that happening, in 2012 Romney was such a milquetoast candidate, he choked in that second debate and there was nothing to really get excited about.
Romney & Ryan? About as inspiring as a mashed potato sandwich, with a large side order of RINO droppings.
But we all put on our game faces, and gave it a good shot because the alternative of Emperor Barky having another 4 years to destroy our Nation was totally unacceptable. But in the end, Romney proved to be just as big a loser as his father was in '68. It was "his turn" and he blew it.
In my opinion, this time around Trump will be able to easily compensate for any voters with hurt feelings on the Republican side who want to sit it out, with NEW voters coming from the old Reagan Democrats and their descendants, the embittered Bernie supporters who will refuse to vote for the Hildabeast, NEW voters who had been indifferent to the political process but have been reeled in by Trump, who has amassed more votes in any Republican primary process in the past 100 years.
Right up until Election Day 1980, the libtard media was mewling that the election between Carter and Reagan was "too close to call", Newsweek had actually prepared three possible covers, one showing Carter rolling his sleeves up for a second term, one with the Seal of the Presidency ripped in two (suggesting an electoral deadlock and the Congress having to elect the President), and finally the one showing Reagan victorious.
We'll be hearing all sorts of ominious predictions and the chicken littles wailing about the sky falling, but I predict that everyone will be stunned in a *YUGE* way when the Trump landslide manifests itself this coming November.

Another blowout, but this time in supposedly Cruz territory.
And Nebraska was trending toward Trump.

ANYone with a modicum dose of attention should see that America has been voting by an increase of about 20% compared to previous elections
The whole "people staying home" meme is asinine
Ain't NOBODY stayin' home.

Watched FreeRepublic on Facebook last night and a number of (so called) Cruz Freepers saying they'd rather vote for Hillary than get behind Trump. Sad...
Not most of us. I am eager for Trump to disprove my skepticism. His off the cuff speech last night was a good start and properly gracious.
Give some of the other Cruz guys a chance to cool off. I felt a lot better once I decided to judge Trump only by what Trump says, NOT his most fire-breathing supporters, which EVERY decent campaign has.

Not the first hostile post I have received. I haven’t checked the math, but I do believe that Trump is now 99% sure to get the 1237 and I accept it. Still doesn’t mean it is okay to call those 60% primary voters who voted for others idiots.
Here are the numbers, so you can see what I said is accurate - http://www.thegreenpapers.com/P16/R

I think crafting a Trump supporters-Cruz supporters peace deal may be even tougher. --
It'll be tough, but the process isn't a "make a deal" process. The optics changed for everybody when Cruz dropped out. There is going to be a turbulent period, disorientation as people adjust to a different contest. At the same time, Trump has approximately the same ultimate goal, get the presidency, and do that job as he envisions it.
He needs to share that vision, as well as how he (at least roughly) intends to get 'er done. Some past Cruz supporters will come to accept that, and I suspect a few current Trump supporters will turn sour on him before November.
I don't see any way for Trump to "personally" reach out to disaffected Cruz voters. He might be able to reconcile with a few campaign players, but there probably isn't any need to, because there is surplus of that sort of talent, and I don't believe Cruz had locked up any particularly stellar players.

That's the candidate's problem and responsibility.
There is a line of thought floating around that the RNC wants to lose, not just because it shares cronyism with DEMs (although that's at rock bottom), but also to teach the conservatives who use Trump as a vehicle, a lesson that won't be forgotten for a generation. The Goldwater example is brought up. "Run a Limbaugh-conservative, got your ass kicked" sort of event. I mention that just as a sort of "beware snakes in the grass," The party is not Trump's ally in fact, but you can bet it will put on a good act.

Yep - the lemonade they prefer to make out of the Trump lemon is to have him beaten soundly in the electoral college.
If you look at this race as a battle between globalists and nationalists, with Trump being the only nationalist, it fits together great. The GOPe and the DEM parties, both globalists but of slightly different flavors, will unite in an effort to beat Trump. Beating Trump preserves status quo style of politics and governing (by the incompetent), and serves as an object lesson in "who's the boss" to the masses.

Yep - what's even sadder, is that I have been slapped at by a Trump supporter who misinterpreted my call to stop the senseless mud slinging as indication I'm upset that Cruz got beat. I wonder how many of those who continue attacking Cruz are actually paid Hillary trolls. Thirty percent of republicans voted for Cruz, and Trump could use those votes. If the trolls set a goal of alienating as many of the Cruz voters as possible, they are on the right track. If those rude and abusive people are sincere Trump supporters, I hope they will let go of their hatred and work to win the November battle instead of re-fighting a battle that has already been won.

The thing is that for the last two election cycles we let the establishment pick our candidate. We held our noses and voted for a person we knew could not possibly win and really acted like a loser.
This year we took control and managed to nominate a person who is not afraid to act like a winner. A person willing to fight. Yes, Trump is not perfect, but he is so much better than Hillary, unless of course you don't want to rock the DC perks boat. Cruz could not fulfill this role because he is simply not likeable enough.
The right decision has been made. Time to unite and fight together.
