Anyone who could vote for McPain or Romney should be able to vote for Trump too. What’s the hold-back?

And Newt, not Next. Jeez two typos in three words. That’s a record for me.

All of this piteous "... but... but... he's no conservative!" ululating, and yet they happily soldiered behind the Grandfather of ObamaCare AND the Fanatical, Red-Eyed Amnesty King!

"Whats the hold-back?"
They're butt-hurt.
And they're evangelicals who believe Trump is not a Godly man.
They were never going to vote in the general election for anyone but Cruz.
It's predictable they will stay home, and has been since 1984.

I haven't always been the biggest Newt supporter, but he's right on this count. The left didn't take control of huge chunks of our society and government overnight. They understand, and have exploited the notion of incrementalism over the past 100+ years to slowly move things in their direction. You can't spend years wandering into the forest and expect to find your way out in one day. Cruz may have (arguably) been the storybook conservative of many people's dreams but even if elected, he was not going to instantly restore us to our founding principles in his first 100 days in office, his first four years in office or his first eight years in office.
Long before the left took control of the media and fedgov, they took control of the language, and have consequently owned the battlefield on which the philosophical battles of the culture war have been fought. If Trump does nothing more with his presidency than shatter the stranglehold of political correctness he will have made a major contribution towards any hope of ever restoring this nation to what our founders intended it to be.

Self-described evangelicals often went overwhelmingly for Trump. That’s probably not a fair stereotype.
