Let no one say that India isn't doing its bit to fight global climate change: Government scientists are working hard to reduce carbon emissions by making cows less gassy.
Consider the numbers: India is home to more than 280 million cows, and 200 million more ruminant animals like sheep, goats, yaks and buffalo.
Scientists at the Cow Research Institute in Mathura, around 100 miles south of New Delhi, are tinkering with cattle feed, seeking a formula that will create less gas for the cows to belch out.
But a team of researchers in the southern state of Kerala is working on a long-term answer.
E.M. Muhammed, a breeding expert, has been experimenting with an indigenous strain of miniature cattle that produce less milk than typical crossbred cows but are much better able to stand very hot weather. An unexpected surprise along the way, he said, was that these dwarf animals, which are about one-quarter the weight of crossbred cows, produce only one-seventh as much manure and one-tenth as much methane.

If anything shows the blatant, in your face stupidity of the faux global warming agenda, this is it.
Holy cow! A big pile of glo-bull warming BS.
Have they considered extinguishing those nasty incense sticks?
Are they sure the cows are belching? Since India worships the cow, maybe it is speaking a holy bovine scripture?
And the number of cattle now is less than half the number of American bison.
Let's start a new movement for liberals - DON'T EXHALE - Save the planet.
Certainly you know that the incense is required to cover and mask the horrific body odors of the unwashed teeming masses during religious gatherings.
I should know, I was born Episcopalian - they do it too!
Have any of these morons ever taken a look at a photo of the Earth from space? See all the cows?
I wonder if camel urine has been tried on the cattle!
I suggest they address first not dumping raw sewage and dead bodies into the Ganges.
Honestly, if we really needed to reduce atmospheric CO2, there are lots of ways to do this. It’s already been shown that we can biologically engineer microbes to utilize CO2, and clearly there are a ton of different ways this could be approached and scaled to a level at which it could at the least take care of a sizable percentage of what we produce annually. Most simply, we could plant more trees.

A significant question IMHO is, if we could ‘dial down’ CO2 levels at will, would that be advisable? Do we really know enough about climate determinants that we would take the risk of messing with the levels of an atmospheric gas that we contribute only a very small amount to? Do all those with recurrent NSA funding feel so confident about their computerized climate models that they would bank the future of the planet and their own children based on their results? I certainly wouldn’t. Research is good. Politicized research, with suppression of studies that don’t fit a biased hypothesis is not good.
I wish I knew how to stop passing gas....and everyone else too!
