Conservative columnist George Will is calling on the GOP to keep Donald Trump out of the White House, even if he wins the nomination.
Donald Trumps damage to the Republican party, although already extensive, has barely begun, Will wrote in a new Washington Post column Saturday.
Will warns a Trump nomination would create down-ballot carnage that could end Republican control of the House.

Will has been a liberal all his life as he started with Nixon does this, and all the way to present he backs Obama.

George, stick to baseball books....leave politics to the adults.
But that's NOT what the headline says. It says "GOP must stop Trump even if he wins the nomination". That's completely different.
I keep reading these articles on preventing Trump from becoming President, and I have yet to see one valid reason why he "MUST" be stopped.
Get that tired, old bastard off the air immediately after President Trump takes the Oath of Office.
Maybe get him off the air NOW.
Perhaps Will should receive IRS scrutiny after the election?
The Perrier Conservative (TM) spouts!
Of course he fails to mention as recently as 1 week ago in addition to the time frame between then and six months ago, because he wants to give the impression, how I'm not sure, that his support was from back when and it is waning now.
Princeton scholars peg Trump with 97 percent chance to win nomination EVEN if he loses Indiana
April 30, 2016 | Scott Morefield
Ted Cruz is fighting hard in Indiana, but it may not matter.
The Princeton Election Consortium, a group of Princeton University academics and other scholars who conduct polling data meta-analysis, has determined that, even if Donald Trump loses Indiana on Tuesday, there is still a 97 percent chance he will reach the required number of delegates to ensure a first ballot nomination.
Should Trump win in Indiana, and he is up by 6 percentage points there, the probability of getting to that 1,237 delegate magic number goes up to 98 percent.
According to the group, the 1 percent change is of little relevance because so many other states, like Washington and Oregon where Cruz is more competitive, allocate their delegates on a proportional basis. If Trump runs strong as expected in West Virginia, California, and New Jersey, he is likely to go over the top regardless of how Indiana turns out.
In California, the group predicts the front-runner to get 160 out of 172 delegates.
Princeton professor and author Sam Wang writes, Media types want you to get your knickers in a twist about Indiana. However, the data suggests that it doesnt matter any more. Rationally speaking, it is probably time to stop writing so much about the Republican race for delegates. Also, may we have a moratorium on brokered-convention articles please?
“A Trump victory will create Pundit carnage like this jack ass and Krauthammer and Rush and Levin. Cant wait!!”
Yes indeed! Like cleaning out the refrigerator. Some of that stuff has been back there too long, the leftovers reheated too many times.
George Will is an arrogant, smug elitist idiot. Trump is breathing new life into a once moribund and disfunctional corpse.
Friend of Hillary.
George Will reminds me of women who will read your palm and look into a Crystal Ball while telling your future, except I’ve yet to see him in a colorful dress.
When did Will morph into such a tool?
George Will, Feb., 1996: “We’re not interested in that.”
I don’t care for Trump, but Will is just stupid and showing his Ruling Class roots.
He must want a cabinet spot in a Cruz administration
Pompous moron!!
I am currently at a political conference, and there has been talk about down ballot harm. However, I was happy to hear there are several organized PACs that are Only working toward the down ballot candidates, supporting vulnerable candidates.
House should be safe, bad election year to keep Senate, due to so many Rs up this time.
I’ve been in the belly of the beast, with Never Trumps, Never Cruzes, cross sections.
I’m voting for the R nominee.
I guess old George is partial to old establishment hacks to suck up to (red or blue)!
Fox needs to fire his pathetic a$$.
As if there was every any doubt Will is a member of the GOPe.
