80-year-old woman fatally shoots home intruder

Deputies are investigating after an intruder was fatally shot in a home near Thursday night Monroe.
Authorities responded after an 80-year-old woman called 911 to report she had shot an intruder in the 13700 block of Woods Lake Road before 9 p.m.
Police said the intruder broke into the home and stabbed a 75-year-old man. The man’s wife then shot the intruder.
According to police, the intruder died at the scene.
The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center and is in stable condition. The woman was not injured.
Woods Lake Road between Florence Road and Old Owen Road was closed for the investigation.

This is horrible. She used a gun!!!! Doesn’t she realize that by having a gun in her house she’s increasing her chances of getting injured? Doesn’t she realize that a criminal will just take it away from her? Doesn’t she realize that the police will take care of her? Doesn’t she realize that the intruder didn’t have any other way to get stuff? etc.
