If I were president I’d really think about limiting State visits like this. In the electronic age they don’t serve much purpose and are hideously expensive. Just don’t go Barrack!
I’d also move the presidential residence to Camp David and turn the White House into a venue for formal state functions and a museum. This would simplify the traffic around the DC area and allow some major roads to be opened up again.
It would be beneficial to the president because security would be much easier since the residence is farther from streets and buildings where terrorist/snipers/bomb wearing jihadi’s could hide.
It would also, I think add to the presidential quality of life. Children in the first family could play outside because Camp David is in the middle of a big military base. There is a swimming pool, a golf course, a movie theatre, bowling alley and other amenities on the base that the White House lacks. Kids could ride bikes or play ball games outside with considerably less security issues.
It would also mean that when the president addressed Congress he/she would take a helicopter to the capital steps rather than causing a traffic jam down Pennsylvania avenue.
Just my opinion
I don’t think there’s any substitute for eye to eye meetings.
But the hideously expensive part can be fixed pretty quick.
This whole entourage worthy of a 3rd world potentate needs to be sh!tcanned pronto.
Camp David is not on a military base. It is located in the idyllic mountains of Western MD adjacent to the lovely Catoctin Mountain State Park just across from one of the most pristine and beautiful private zoological parks in the nation, the Catoctin Wildlife Zoological Preserve.
It’s a good idea. But I thought that the White House had a swimming pool, a movie theater, a bowling alley and a shooting range. Maybe a golf course has been added and perhaps a large trough for Moochie’s feedings.
