You forgot about George Putnam who never left the Democrat Party in name but was more conservative than Rush.
Putnam was talking illegal immigration before there was a Rush and I would bet Rush took a large portion of his format from George Putnam.

I used to listen to George every day. Paul Harvey right before noon on KABC and then over to George on KIEV before it was seized by the usurping neocon vermin of Salem radio. George was the greatest. I doubt that Rush ever listened to George at all, they were never in the same market. Just those of us in LA/OC knew George.
His regular callers were Free Republic before there was Free Republic. Terry Anderson also got his start as a caller to George’s program: “Stupid people of America, good evening!” “If you ain’t mad, you ain’t payin’ attention”. I miss him too.
