That election was an awful thing. I had not known he had not tried to challenge the illegal immigration issue.

I knew it had to do with royalties one way or the other. But what’s heard over a stream with regard to commercial content can be vastly different than what’s played over the air.

No, Kentucky switched to a caucus for this year's primary so that Rand Paul could continue to run for re-election to his Senate seat and also for the GOP nomination.

Kentucky has a law prohibiting one individual from appearing on the same ballot for more than one office. So, to get around that, the state party agreed to make the presidential preference take the form of a caucus (this way Rand Paul only appears on the primary ballot for his Senate seat.)

Supposedly Paul's campaign was to foot most of the bill for the extra expense of the caucus, not sure if they ponied up or not.

Also, it was sort of funny, by the time the Kentucky caucus came around on March 5th, Rand Paul was already out of the race.

LOL! OH. OK, Sir!

I won’t push for you to get in front of a mic

.... but what is the possibility we could somehow as FR sponsor a radio broadcast?

Is that at all something that could be looked at? Surely there are Freepers with the requisite skill set....

Perhaps I’m dreaming too big of unicorns and rainbows...

I spent a number of years in radio broadcasting but not sure if a Free Republic radio show would go over without Jim on the microphone, I suppose it might be possible to put together something like a live streaming broadcast along the lines of “Free Republic This Morning!” and just read and comment on some of the more profound commentary already posted (and the best responses), and include Jim’s comments where applicable, a companion broadcast “Free Republic Tonight!” could provide a double whammy.

Writing the material would be a low impact task, as the best material is already posted on FR.

We could always include a sponsored feature by someone like “Acme Lightning Rods” for “Who Gets The Zot?” and we call up JimRob live on the phone, read some of the more offensive posts, and then he announces who rides the lightning? “And the ZotMaster sez .... *ZOT!!*”

And now a word from our sponsor ... “Acme Lightning Rods, don’t YOU get zapped without warning, whether it’s on FR, or outside on the farm, *Acme* is the name to remember, and tell ‘em JimRob sent you by!”

(yes, I used to write commercials too lol)

Was not Ron Paul responsible for Kentucky changing over to the caucus system versus the statewide vote? If so that is not a feather in Paul’s cap.?

I didn't bring Paul up as an example. I think he mostly stacked some state GOP conventions with his ardent supporters and was able to win some of the unpledged delegates simply because more of his people showed up.

Cruz and supporters are going to state conventions and probably doing that, but also getting with anti-Trump state officials and working to have Double Agent delegates assigned to Trump for delegate slots Trump actually won in primaries, "Trump" delegates who would abandon Trump after a first ballot.

I asked if anyone could name a GOP candidate who had ever done that before.

“It’s Rush’s new strategy of rendering Trump voters catatonic by boring them to death.”

Easier to turn of the program, like I did for good back in February.

Dornan did try to challenge the election. But he was betrayed by his fellow GOP House members who wouldn’t back the challenge.

The RNC was already engaged in full latino suckup mode and like Bush and his cronies they think that means siding with Mexican trespassers against the American people. The GOP establishment richly deserves to die. It has been governing for its donors only and against the American people for years. It’s only now that a critical mass of Americans are realizing what they have been doing.

mkjessup, I like your ideas.... but our beloved JimRob of course has the say-so.

There for sure is a need for something of this kind, since we have seen how Fox and now Rush have been co-pted.

Food for thought for sure!

Right I understood that; that he was not backed in the challenge of the election. What I thought I understood you to say, and the point which I had not known, was that he did not ever challenge the illegal immigration issue until it was too late and his goose was fried!

-- Did he [Ron Paul] go in and try to have Double Agent delegates assigned to a candidate the candidate specifically won by rules of a primary? --

Yes.

Paul did not win a single state; however, his ardent followers worked arcane local and state party rules to take over several state delegations, including garnering 20 of Maine's 24 spots.

Ron Paul's followers fight until the very end - latimes - August 28, 2012

I wish I had details beyond Maine, but I do recall news stories about Ron Paul supporters getting an inordinate amount of delegate support in several states. The bigger Ron Paul story, newswise, was the RNC passing Rule 40(b) to deny Paul a nomination at the convention.
