We lost the battle on abortion. We are fighting some successful rearguard actions, but that it is still legal (and 'Constitutionally' so) to kill innocent human beings in America is a travesty.

If we couldn't win that fight in the 'culture wars' who is really surprised that we lost the fight against gay 'marriage', are losing the battle on transgenderism, etc.?

The US is an ocean liner that is sinking due to high waves, fires in the engine room, a drunken pilot, food gone bad, diseased crewmen, rude passengers, etc.

Which problem do you want to fix first? Which problem is the captain trying to distract us from fixing?

If we could do one thing to right the ship it would be to make it near impossible for the federal government to deficit spend. If you can prevent the feds from doing silly things, then everyone will be forced to confront the real issues.

But that will never happen because everyone benefits from deficit spending ... until they don't.
