He was speaking as an employer and a hotel owner. What he said was the transgender situation had never been an issue, so there was no need for laws. It was a "both sides should've just left it alone" kind of response. As a businessman he said that "transgender" bathrooms would be a considerable expense. He was asked if he had transgender employees and he said he didn't know.

I thought it was a very practical solution. Do I want Women's rest rooms to be for women? Of course. Do I want to jump all over Trump for not giving a politically correct answer? Of course not. His approach would be to put together a group and come up with a solution.

Being queer or normal is not a liberal/conservative thing.
