Ted Cruz Blows Wisconsin Momentum In Big Apple Blowout
The Daily Caller ^ | 04/20/2016 | MATT K. LEWIS

Posted on 04/20/2016 4:59:10 PM PDT by MaxistheBest

Jamie Weinstein makes the valid point that Donald Trump’s New York victory wasn’t a surprise. We all saw it was coming, and—in regards to predicting whether Trump can collect the 1,237 delegates he needs—the results were baked into the cake. States like Indiana and California are much more important, inasmuch as they are the known unknowns.

What I think is remarkable, however, is that Ted Cruz picked up zero delegates in the state, and actually performed much worse than John Kasich. This is not important in terms of mathematically stopping Trump (had Cruz picked up a dozen delegates and come in second, it likely wouldn’t have been dispositive). But it would have cemented Cruz’s position as the man to turn to should we get to Cleveland without a nominee.

Exactly!!

Wisconsin was the establishment machine giving Cruz a win in the only state where they had a machine worth a damn... There was nowhere to go from ther for Cruz and by getting in bed with the establishment to get the WI win he cost himself support throughout the rest of the race.

If the GOP had as good a machine everywhere like they have in WI they’d never lose, but the reality is that WI is about the only state that they have such a well oiled and battle tested machine.

There was no momentum out of WI, just the last desperate gasp of the GOPe to try to put up a firewall... And it failed miserably.

It doesn't show anything of the sort.

There is no cross-over voting allowed and to vote in the Republican primary, one had to register R last October or earlier. Neither of these things is true in the general election.

And, we have not had months of Trump's team developing Hillary's scandals for the whole world to see.

I believe that there are patriotic Democrats who do love their country. When faced with a choice of criminal Hillary or Donald, they will choose Donald. Especially when the full extend of Hillary's criminal enterprise is brought to light.

Doncha know third is the new first place. Its been that way since New Hampshire when their superboy Rubio came in third and was made out to be the winner.

Lets not talk about the millions of Independent voters who didn't vote.

Shall you compare the total amount of votes Trump has vs Cruz or do you want to cherry pick States?

Millions of New Yorkers didn't vote.

We will see what they have to say in Nov.

And you think the GOP is going to win WI?

What does that have to do with anything?

Trump could very well put NY into play since millions of independents didn't vote and the Bernie voters aren't going for Hillary.

I don't why they make winning NY an issue, the GOP is very unlikely to win WI either!

We don't expect to win every State in the General election we win a primary in.

Cruzers even had to start their own Drudge Report because reality is too hard to take and it was all Matt Drudges’s fault.

Teddy Bobblehead News Report

All delusion, all the time, but it feels good.

No, what those results show is there are more registered democrats in NY that republicans and that the Democrats have a primary race that is just as engaging to their primary voters as the Republicans have.

The votes last night tell you nothing about who wins in a Trump V Hillary general election. Cruz supporters continue to fail to understand basic data or what it tells you.

The decision facing NY voters yesterday was not Trump v Clinton and if you think that it tells you anything about that direct match up beyond general case that there are more registered dems than reps in NY you are a fool.

Before Cruz backers argued Trump could only win in open primaries, yet here we have a closed Primary and Trump not only wins but Cruz comes in last.. Same thing is true in PA as well, closed Primary and Trump will win and Cruz will not only lose to Trump but may very well lose to Kasich as well...

Cruz supporters need to wake up to the reality, it’s not going to happen for him this cycle.

Let’s repeat to make sure everyone gets it. Cruz got more votes in Wisconsin than Trump got in New York.

Trump got less votes in his home state than Cruz got in Wisconsin!

Cruz got more than twice as many votes in Texas, his home state, than Trump got in his home state!
