I was just asking the question. When party insiders pick the nominee like in Colorado and Wyoming and only a very small minority have the opportunity to even participate and the bosses just pick whoever they want... that does not feel like an election. That is a rigged system. It is rigged for the insiders, for the lobbyists, for the special interests and I guess you like that. A lot has changed since “Lincoln's time” maybe it is time for the system to be reformed. Maybe it is time for the people to have more input? I am pretty sure that if Cruz was not the recipient you would be singing a different tune. It is time to for reform.
Just told the poster that Lincoln never had a primary and he stuffed the room with his delegates early on to deny the other delegates space to get in.
I am for Cruz or Trump, but I have no personal investment in either man. But Truman is being disingenuous about Colorado and Wyoming. He chose not to play on ground he could not win because he had not invested his time and money into getting his people into those rooms. For the same reason he chose to debate Cruz one on one. Trump is an old fashioned stem-winder orator who knows how to rouse the crown. Not that that is a bad thing. Huey Long was that type, too. The difference is that Huey was also someone who excelled at thrust and cut debate. Trump excels only at insult.
