Sen. Ted Cruz for the first time said he believes the Republican Party is headed to a contested convention.
Cruz had previously called a contested convention likely and that it seemed the party was heading in that direction. But after a disappointing third-place loss in New York Tuesday, the Texas Republican is no longer saying he plans to beat front-runner Donald Trump at the ballot box.
"We are headed to a contested convention,” Cruz said in an interview with Philadelphia talk-radio personality Chris Stigall this morning. “At this point, nobody is getting 1,237. Donald is going to talk all the time about other folks not getting to 1,237; he’s not getting there either. None of us are getting to 1,237.”
And he’s right about one thing. After the New York primary, it is now mathematically impossible for Cruz to clinch the Republican nomination using bound or pledged delegates before the July convention in Cleveland.

Yes, I’ve known of those actions and commend Trump for them.
wrong, not sure where you have got your talking points but Lincoln was very different.
Lincoln never had a primary and he stuffed the room with his delegates before the other delegates could fit in the room.
Next time you spout a talking point then understand what is it you are saying.

IMHO, Trump has split the party from the very beginning of the campaign with his personal insults, threats, and profanities for just about every one of his fellow competitors. The man is a vulgar narcissist who should never be allowed near the oval office!
I would love to see Cruz go 3rd party, if for no other reason that to deny Trump the Presidency! The country is screwed either way...Trump or Clinton!

What makes your think he won’t be used by the Establishment? He is unlikely to win without their full support. He needs them just as he needs the banks to build his buildings.
same here in FL where it is a closed primary, a must win swing state , and cruz never win a single county.

Lyin’ Ted needs to knock it off misquoting The Donald on NATO. I heard Trump’s quote - he did not say he would pull out of NATO. He said, rightfully, that our so-called NATO partners are not pulling their weight, it needs to be modernized, and it needs to be tailored to handle terrorism.
You can't be serious. Trump has millions more nationwide votes than Ted Cruz. Talk about grasping at straws.

Just like the rest of D.C., Cruz is completely detached. Does this guy really think America would stand by and allow the Sultans of Sham to burn the voter ballots and just declare him king?
The most revealing thing about Cruz’s stubborn stay in the race is his poor judgement. How does anyone with a thimble’s measure of brains expect someone with that kind of judgement to be qualified to be President? It is insanity or, even worse, demonic.

I am not going to engage in tabloid nonsense. I have already heard all the dirt on Trump and have satisfied myself that he now walks straight and has recovered from his past falls from grace.
So the questions I ask of you are not about Ted’s tabloid trash, his alleged dalliances, his wife’s mental health status or any of that assorted garbage. I expect you to ask questions that also avoid such nonsense.

With regard to your apparent inside information that Cruz is going to unleash the goods on Donald Trump at the last moment before the Convention:
What if Trump has 1237+?
Why is Cruz waiting?
What proof do you have?
Why do you have this info and no one else?
How do you have this info?
Does it bother you that Cruz is in league with Mitt Romney, a known liar and every bit as dishonest and destructive as Hillary?
Do you think Senator Jeff Sessions is a dupe?
Do you think Sheriff Joe Arpaio is a fool?
Do you think Paul Manafort who works without pay for Donald Trump and who was instrumental in obtaining victory for Ronald Reagan in 1980 and who said last week that Trump’s run for President is astonishingly similar to that of Ronald Reagan’s in 1980, that he is a liar?
Given that Trump will work with evil people and profit while doing so, how is that different from FDR, Truman or Churchill working with Stalin and then turning the tables on him? Would Trump make a deal with Clinton and then turn the tables? Would Trump betray his trust to millions and millions of vets and his father’s legacy to them and allow Hillary to skate scot-free?
I would really like to see thoughtful and thorough answers on EACH of the above. You can take as much time as you want.

I don’t know it. I do know that anyone else CERTAINLY will because they are already too connected politically to the Establishment and they lack the ability resist and still be able to accomplish anything.
Supporting Trump is taking a big chance. Supporting anyone else is a sure thing that Transnational Progressivism will march forward, transferring our wealth and sovereignty to globalists and crony capitalists.
Were having a grand old time. Lyin’ Ted is mathematically eliminated. Some campaign strategy. The road to the WH starts with 3rd place finishes in NY, GA, SC, FL, OH, VA, ... You know states where people can actually vote.
