Civil War buffs are familiar with the massive snowball fights engaged in by Confederate armies stationed as far south as Georgia, and everyone who has read Dickens encounters tales describing much more severe winter weather in mid 19th-century London than anything we see today. If we read back further in time, we hear of a world that is much colder still, with the Thames freezing up regularly, sometimes for months on end, during the 1600s.

My Dad and Grandad used to cut ice out of the Hudson river near Athens NY back in the late '20s early '30s. I'm talking BIG chunks of ice too. Don't know about now since I haven't been back there in many years. But, as much as I don't like the warmer weather, it's a lot easier to survive than dealing with YUGE ice sheets and little plant growth.

The narrator mentioned the glaciers had been shrinking since the last Ice Age, and
...”If NO CLIMATIC CHANGE happens they will be gone in a thousand years.”
That was SEVENTY FOUR (74) years ago, well before the glo-bull warming hysteria.
He also mentioned that those glaciers had been through FOUR ice ages.

If the sea levels were rising as predicted in his movie, Al Gore’s seaside mansion on the California coast would be flooded.

We’re still getting them in Massachusetts but The Charles River deosn’t freeze the way it did years ago.

They'd flood it to maybe a foot and there was only one area that was notoriously "rubber ice" that we challenged every year
I stopped challenging after I fell through and I had to walk the half mile or so home in cold, winter weather ... soaking/freezing wet.
Little kids used to learn life by the age of ten
Now ... they whine and shrink in fear from a chalk drawing and actually get an entire national population to at least read about their woosy, snowflake asses.
oh it;’s coming- big report about how the ‘last 11 months were hottest consecutive months on record’ and how it ‘smashed all records’ in paper today, and another report yesterday how scientists are now certain main is almost ‘entirely responsible for all global warming’
(of course it was what? 0.06 degree warmer supposedly? AFTER they fudged their satellite data- YES folks, they lied about the satellite data- one satellite veered off course, and so they threw out all the temperature readings because the satellite data showed no warming- and they created new temperature readings out of thin air based on what they THOUGHT the temperature should be had the satellite stayed in it’s orbit- and that is how they came up with the LIE that ‘there really has been warming over the past 20 years’ when all the data showed there was NO warming over the last 20 years- That is how they deceived the public- and they bragged that ‘now they have the truth’ now that they adjusted the readings- an bragged about how now they could shut up all those who say there was no warming over the past 20 years- absolutely despicable!)
(Of course the warming report had to mention el ninjo- but they were quick to launch into their obligatory “But man is also to blame’ routine so that people wouldn’t actually think el nino is the only driving force behind global warming-
La Nina is coming soon- the world will cool- and watch how they link this cooling somehow to ‘man-caused climate change’
My son-in-law is a Rozzie boy-—I’ll have to ask him about Fallon Field. (He’s in his 50s)
