They’re not just risking the White House though. They are risking many, many down ticket votes. My only reason to vote Republican this year is for President, frankly. I’m done with that party after this.
And in the end, that’s why the GOPe will support Trump, if not strongly at least as part of a deal to protect their congressional races.
Look at the math - there’s only one President but hundreds of Republicans in the Senate and House, each of which is ripe for being “assisted” by the GOP in return for helping to keep the gravy train flowing smoothly.
Here's the irony: when the RNC nominates one of its hack candidates (I'm betting on Jeb, Mitt, or Marco) at a brokered convention, they will try to shame and scare alienated Trump (and Cruz!) voters by saying it's our duty to stop Hillary. The hypocrites of the GOP establishment will manage to do this with a straight face, even though they themselves would overtly or covertly back Hillary if Trump makes it to the nomination. In other words, it's our duty to back their candidates, while the RNC is under no obligation to support our candidates of choice in a general election.
I think the Republican Party has so alienated so many people that use to think of themselves as Republicans that the party should have what we call an “assets” sale. Meaning, if there is anything worth saving a newly formed replacement Party (e.g. The “Constitution Party”) buys it or takes it over and the Republcan Party apparatus that is left just passes into history! It’s dead, we just have not had the funeral.
If the GOPe steals this election from the voters I’m outta here too... no more Republican votes for any office.
Same. I can’t continue voting for globalists who treat Americans like dogs. The party either reforms itself under Trump or I walk.
