There are people out there who choose to do manual labor, I know it sounds strange to those who don’t but it is the truth. We started giving those jobs to illegals in the 1970s and still are, and lost more when companies moved out of the country. Along with that in most areas there are no longer vocational classes to learn trades in high school.
Our politicians have been trying to tell us for years that we don’t want or need those jobs. According to them we need to all go to college and work technical jobs. Never mind that they have exported many of those jobs, and exported workers to compete with ours in technology as well.
In the past it was understood that some people did not want to go to college and did not want a job indoors, or a regular 9-5 career. Many people started at the bottom as a manual labor employee and worked to learn a business from the bottom up. More than a few of those employees ended up owning their own business in construction trades, landscape, janitorial, mechanic and or welding shops, etc.
Most entry level jobs now go to illegals taking that bottom rung away from our citizens.
We still have people that would work those type of jobs if they could.
The second *exported* workers... in technology, should be imported...sorry for the confusion.
very true.
