Actually, it is the opposite, the Establishment has made Trump enemy #1 and Cruz supporters have followed suit.

If Trump hadn't knocked out Bush and Rubio, the establishment wouldn't have given Cruz the time of day and his campaign would be over.

“Ah and there it is, the spin. Cruz is supposed to come in third among republican primary voters in New York because well, its a liberal state.... there is no such thing as a real republican there....”

Same spin Trump used in Texas. You keep saying Cruz cannot win. I’m still trying to figure that one out. The only reason I can come up with is Trump voters will stay home and there won’t be any crossover Democrats. Cruz voters can say the same thing about Trump with the addition of, rat voters may crossover and vote for Trump, but then Trump will owe them.

The only republican that cannot beat Hillary is Kacich and the reason is, if you are either a Trump or Cruz voter you will stay home because it will be 2008/2012 all over again.

Cruz has just as good chance of beating Hillary as Trump does. I’m comfortable with either candidate.

Again, I have to disagree. No president wants a loose cannon as vice president. Can you imagine? Trump’s mouth will not be contained and he will speak his mind despite his president’s wishes to the contrary.

Donald Trump would never take a VP slot under any circumstances. JMHO.

Same spin? Other than the home state part, not really. I don’t recall Trump every saying Texas didn’t have real Republicans... and Trump didn’t come in third there either.

Cruz is looking to lose to both Trump and Kasich in the next two weeks, yet you feel he can beat Hillary? Forgive me if I don’t share your optimism. Cruz’s weakness from day one was he’s a lousy general election candidate, he has zero charisma, charm and frankly comes across to most folks as condescending. Sure, some folks will like him, but most wont, and he’s the easiest for the left to spin into the boogieman. He put the nation on the verge of default, and yes, in spite of what Hannity tells you, he did, and don’t think seniors don’t know just how close they were to possibly not seeing their checks when he pulled his little stunt.

And no folks, the debt payments due at the end of October were greater than revenues could have covered, so yes had the shutdown continued the Federal Government would have defaulted.

Don’t think for one minute that folks have forgotten this. Cruz was always the weakest general election candidate this election cycle, regardless of all the stuff that’s gone on. You need only look to see the Primary Map... He can’t win a republican Primary, yet he’s going to win a general election?

People really need to wake up to reality. The GOP hasn’t won a popular election for president in 28 years, with the sole exception of a sitting war time president, and even then could not even win by 2.5% of the vote. The GOP needs desperately to expand its base.. and the first candidate in 28 years who is showing they are doing that, the party has decided to destroy rather than risk losing their power. The GOP is run by fools, PA has had 100,000 folks switch parties to vote for Trump... he’s repeatedly shown he’s attracting new folks to the party and people think Cruz is the answer. Cruz is a disaster, even with the weakest Democratic candidate in a long long time, Cruz will lose.

It has nothing to do with Trump voters not voting for him, its he’s just got massive general election issues, that are being laid bare quite flagrantly in the primary. He can’t win among Republicans, he sure can’t win a general election.

Cruz is simply another Romney/McCain/Dole, except less photogenic more condescending. His proponents would argue he’s fare more conservative than those examples, and that’s fine, but when it comes to his presence, he’s right there with them.

Need to wake up folks, GOP cannot win doing what they’ve been doing, and Cruz is not the guy who’s drawing in new blood. I wish that wasn’t the case, but its true. Cruz is the nominee, that record will of 28 years stretches to 32, and most likely 36.

Definitely NOT aimed at any FReeper!

Aimed at (rhetorically) Ted Cruz. Elevating himself into the conversation by eluding to the idea that he was being asked to be Vice Pres, which I highly doubt.

We live in sensitive times here at FReeperland. But, I am always willing to learn, and I see from the potential for misunderstanding that I should have been more careful in identifying who my comment was directed at.

“When Cruz comes in third tonight....”
~~~~~~~~~
If Trump pulls less than 50% in NY it is over for him. And the expectation here is Trump wins his home state. Just like Cruz won Texas.
Cruz s supposed to come in third tonight. NY is s liberal state and regardless of the ultimate Republican candidate, Hillary will still win NY by 20 points.
Looks like Trump pulled in over than 50%. So, looks like it’s over for Lyin Ted.
Hitlery didn’t quite get 20%.
Time for Lyin Ted to drop out.
Oh come now, this was really close.
Cruz supporters have been telling me all week long how Trump wouldn't get to 50%.
And they were right. If they get the GOP to not count 20% of the voters........
