"The dialogue and the narrative of this campaign isn't focusing on the real issue," Trump convention manager Paul Manafort said on ABC's "This Week" Sunday. "The real issue is there's not going to be a second ballot."
"There are many paths to [a delegate majority] for Donald Trump, between now and middle of June," Manafort said. "We are working all of those paths." .
.
.
"The states that we just finished this was the time when Cruz was supposed to be ahead," Manafort said. "With Cruz, he wins the reddest of red states, where you get voterless primaries, where the rules favors organization versus appeal to the voters."
"Trump wins in states that we have to win the presidency," Manafort said.

Ford had the establishment behind him. He didn't have to get any delegates except the uncommitteds in NY and Pennsylvania, who would go for Ford if Shemp Howard were the Ford point man. He's able, but this environment is different, and he joined awfully late. I'm a Cruz supporter but I am perfectly happy when a potential nominee to beat Clinton starts getting its act together.

Really? So from going to "We going to have enough delegates before the convention" to "we wont have enough delegates"
Yeah. Well maybe in Trumpon logic that's confidence.

He did very well vs Hillary’s little b’tch. I l like what he said. I liked how he reframed every question into a positive for Trump.

Fair enough... if Trump somehow delivers a majority of delegates on the first ballot, he’s the nominee. That’s the way the system works. Period, end of story. If he is nominated I’ll vote for him in the general.
The flip side is this: after coming out with this confident claim (which I don’t believe, but I could be wrong), I’ll have no patience for Trump (or Manafort) giving us that “We Wuz Robbed!” sob story should it go to the second ballot. Which I believe it will.

Where did you see “We won’t have enough delegates”. That’s not from Paul Manafort.

Yup. It was all Reagan had left to shoot with, and he came up empty.

This reading comprehension problem you have seems to be common among the Cruzlim hordes.

Nonsense ...just the look on Manafort’s face , it say’s “have fun thieving while you can Cruz Cult , but you’re in for a rude awakening” ...Manafort is as cool as a cucumber and you Cruz Cultists are definitely worried, exhibited by your attacks on him ..

I think its the voice of reality. There is every reason to believe that Trump will get 1237 delegates and win on the first ballot. Cruz will be forced out of the race after he gets clobbered in one primary after another in the NE.

Paul Manafort is the most important man in American right now!! I’ve caught all 4 of his interviews and he strikes me as a man of supreme confidence and unparalleled accomplishment in this realm. No question, Mr. Trump sent an unmistakable signal when he hired Mr. Manafort that he does know how to mine the very best negotiator(s) for the job at hand!!
