You probably did read it a month ago. It’s a month old article. Don’t know why pabianice used today’s date.

????

Americans DO fear that.

This is not an irrational fear. This has actually been occurring. There was a time not long ago that the American economy was an job producing machine. Small businesses were the engine driving that machine.

Today, the only jobs that are growing are bar and food service jobs. Look around you. In my lifetime I don't think I've ever seen more restaurants and fast food places as there are now. Everywhere you go, either some strip mall food court, or a cluster of fast food joints.

Outside of healthcare and government there is just not an abundance of good jobs, except perhaps in certain regions of the country such as Silicon Valley. Beyond that, the U.S. economy is churning out millions of low-paying, part-time jobs suitable for teenagers living at home.

While I don't agree with them, the $15 an hour minimum wage demonstrators in part have a point. There is nothing else out there. There is little or no career paths anymore. Statistically, small business are now closing/failing faster than new small businesses are being created. That is a novelty.

So yeah, it's more reality than simple fear.

Small businesses were the engine driving that machine.

Now the government never met a merger that they didn't like.

I found it. 2DV posted this same CNN article here back in March.
I knew I read it here before.

The US government has given up on the American people and the American people have given up on the US government. This doesn’t end well.

She hasn’t recovered from the tech bubble burst?! I think the problem is her. I got laid off during that mess, found another job in tech, now I’m making twice as much and working half as hard (startups are a cult, don’t let anybody tell you otherwise).

I know a guy who was in the same boat. Had a great 13 year run developing software, and then lost his job a few months after 9-11. Could not get another job like that anyplace.

So he bought a donut shop, and ran that for about 3 yrs.
By that time the IT business had recovered, so he sold the shop and went back to work coding.

Yeah, there’s always a path. Wallowing in crappy dead end jobs for 15 is a long series of bad decisions. Because really, even crappy dead end job DO have a promotional path available to those who don’t suck. Might not get her back into jetting around the world doing meetings, but it can sure get her past $11/hr.

If they understood Socialism the only people who would vote for Bernie would be those whose dream job is civil service drone, guard at a reeducation camp, or the person behind the counter handing out today’s bread, tomorrow’s milk, and next week’s toilet paper to the throngs lined up.

This is why Hillary (or Bernie) will win easily. When people get scared for their livelihoods they look to the government teat for aid and comfort. They know Democrats will provide that aid and comfort.
