Gallatin Police Department officials have released body cam and dash cam video of a fatal officer involved shooting. The shooting happened Wednesday morning. Gallatin officers were responding to a call from assistance from Sumner County Deputies.

I don't know. I really think he could have been more convincing about telling her to stop. He just didn't sound that committed to what he was saying.

It's like he was laying a trap for her, just waiting for the chance to open fire on yet another young, black, family member.

It wasn't the bodycam that made the case for me -- although it did show her closing to within "lethal dash distance".

It was the DASHcam footage from the approaching vehicle that clearly showed that the LEO was in full retreat during the full time of the bodycam video.

He did everything he could to avoid having to shoot -- and almost waited until it was too late.

Absolutely a justified use of deadly force.

I suppose.... justified. However, I can’t help but think that there are plenty of ways to immobilize sick people out there that doesn’t involve shooting them dead. On the hand, the officer had no way of knowing if she had any other weapons on her when he arrived.
