“While Donald Trump is blasting the delegate system “
He should be thanking the system that gives him 22% more delegates in proportion to the individual voting ...
Will The Donald serve Trump Cheese to go with the Trump Whine about the unfairness of Cruz scooping up these delegates too?
Let the bidding begin!
“He should be thanking the system that gives him 22% more delegates in proportion to the individual voting”
*****
And thanking Rubio and Carson for staying in the race as long as they did so it made it easier to win, particularly in states that allowed Dimwit/Induhpendent votes in GOP primaries.
“He should be thanking the system that gives him 22% more delegates in proportion to the individual voting ...”
And how over represented is Cruz’s delegate count?
Will not run for Senate reelection or for FL Governor.
Rubio gives up on Senate: He hates it
Marco Rubio: 'I'm not running for governor of Florida'
Im going to be a private citizen in January.
I support Trump.
But he needs to play the game by the rules with regard to these delegates, which means wooing them....rather than moaning about Cruz wooing them.
We are all on notice. There are REAL votes for the nomination up for grabs. RIGHT NOW.
Trump should call them personally. Because you can be that Cruz will be doing so.
Pennsylvania is a closed primary, but we've had, at last count, over 100,000 net voters switch to GOP registration to vote for Trump, judging by his huge lead in the polls here.
I'd wager that Trump is a net beneficiary of crossover voting. How many of those will stick with him in November remain to be seen.
You have to look at each state’s individual party rules for the answers. I can not find Ohio’s on GP. Someone forwarded me their rules though, and I think they are assigned to the 2nd runner up -Trump. But Kasich would have to exit for that to happen. He doesn’t look like he’s going anyplace soon.
This certainly wouldn’t hurt, and I’m betting he has done this already.
However, understand that a much different strategy is that by “whining” about it, he keeps the corruptions of the GOPe in front of everyone and, on par, sustains more support than he might otherwise by quietly getting the delegates.
That said, I’m quite convinced he already has gotten the Carson and Christie delegates and many of the Virgin Islands delegates. Just a hunch, but I think this is why the RNC guy yesterday said Trump would win it with 1100 delegates. I think he meant “CURRENT PLEDGED DELEGATES” knowing that Trump had wrapped up a number of these “loose” delegates.
There is nothing trump won’t whine about. 22% more or not
IF Kasich doesn’t suspend or withdraw, his delegates are still bound to him, even if he doesn’t qualify under Rule 40. IF he drops out, then they may be unbound depending upon the state. I think Ohio requires them to be bound to him on the first ballot regardless.
Why are not they just allotted according to the voting summary? IMHO this is one of the things wrong with the current system. It leaves the wishes of the voters out of the equation. No way should they be sold to the highest bidder.
"Brittany Warner, Communications Director for the Ohio Republican Party, told Conservative Review that the delegates remain bound only for the first ballot.
Warner also confirmed that the first ballot binding must be for Kasich, and no one else. Warner said, "what you questioned yesterday[regarding delegates going to Trump] is not correct. As the rules state, the 66 delegates will go to the winner of the Ohio primary (John Kasich).
Saying that Trump would get the 66 delegates from Ohio if Kasich dropped out was being used as an argument for Kasichs continuance in the race for the nomination. It was argued that he needed to stay in. That argument is clearly false. Kasich will keep his Ohio delegates and they are bound to him on the first vote. He cannot release them to vote for any other candidate during that round."
I wish Trump would stop whining and get the damn delegates. He would wrap this up before the convention.
Quit your whinin’ ya crybaby.
And for the record, The Conservative Review details how the other 79 Kasich delegates are handled on a state-by-state basis.
Thanks, I hadn’t seen that one.
