You are 100 percent correct. Any misdeeds of Agnew while Governor were part and parcel of the Maryland political machine both 'RAT and GOP, and he was forced out because Nixon did NOT want Agnew going to trial in the Senate (something Agnew wanted and was ready to do) because it would have set a precedent for Nixon going to trial.

Agnew wrote a great book (fiction but claimed to reflect true events) called 'The Canfield Decision', in addition to another book 'Go Quietly or Else' (self-explanatory), both are excellent reads, especially the first book, for a first time author, Agnew really spun one terrific story and one is left wondering just how much the protagonist 'Vice President Porter Canfield' was a peek into his own persona.

Spiro Agnew was a cheep shake down artist.
While Governor of Maryland he was getting a local grocery to supply him with groceries. for grattis.
Many other similar hits there too.
One thing though. He had his gestappo force arrest some clown for flipping him off at a campaign ralley. It went to the supremes and they ruled it is lawful freedom of expression to flip some butthead off.

The only candidate to be accused of voter fraud and/or dirty trix in the 2016 presidential race is Raphael Edward “Felito” Cruz. Who I might add has been accused and looks to be guilty many many times starting right out of the gate in Iowa.

Lets amble down memory lane a bit. I seem to remember that it was Cruz not Trump who received a written chastisement from the Iowa Secretary of State for improper election antics bordering on voter fraud. Felito then carried his bag of dirty trix on to SC and points South. He is currently engaging in loser level delegate stealing antics in several states which is just having the effect of reinforcing his image as a sleazy inside the beltway hack politician.

Compared to Cruz Trump is an altar boy.
