In the light of how much of the MSM has conducted themselves regarding Donald Trump, this is an understatement.

Interesting question given Mister Trump's, um, familiarity with the bidding processes (labor unions, politicians, etc.)

Although I suspect that Mister Trump is dirtier than a mud pie, I do not know for certain.

It would have been a profoundly different world. I've also pondered how things might have turned out if Reagan had been able to parlay his success after 2 years of governing California into becoming the GOP nominee in '68 (not an insurmountable task, not everyone was on board for Nixon during the primary process), and Reagan had chosen Agnew as his VP?

Eight years of Reagan '68 to '76, four years of Agnew '76 to '80 (due to the media hounding and persecuting Agnew just as they did with Nixon in our timeline), but we would have seen a true military victory in Vietnam and the peninsula reunited under a non-Communist government, the despicable policy of 'detente' which legitimized and enabled the Soviets to enslave half the planet would have been cast aside in favor of the common sense Reagan policy of winning the Cold War, Iran under the Shah would have remained our ally and the Middle East would not have been turned into a smoldering tinderbox, I submit the world would have been in a far better place at this point.

The fun part with this speculation?

Who would have been running for President in 1980?

My guess?

George H.W. Bush vs. Ted Kennedy.

And Kennedy would have cleaned Poppy Bush's clock in a nostalgic wave of 'Camelot Again'.

She sure would FRiend, Judy was a great First Lady when Agnew was Governor of Maryland, she would have been superb in the White House.
