If we are to survive, the one things Americans must unite around is the Constitution, the social compact that outline the limits of government and the unalienable rights of in individual it recognizes.
Of course, as John Adams pointed out, this attempt at self-government is only possible if the people embrace, and are constrained by, Judaeo-Christian morality, which is the foundation on which the Constitution is built.
The Progressives have, for the last 50-years, done everything in their power to undermine that moral-cultural underpinning, and have largely succeeded. We are a fractured people without a common moral compass. It has been replaced by the celebration of self and the myopic, destructive selfishness that goes with it.
As an aside, this is where Ayn Rand, I believe, got it wrong. She was brilliant in seeing the evil of the Progressive movement for what it is, but had blinders on when it came to the logical conclusion of her “me, for my own sake” philosophy. She saw it giving rise to Supermen/women, but the truth is, you will eventually end up with what we have today, a society of selfish people looking for the path of least effort to the riches of others (democracy). That society will destroy itself and there will be a return of Oligarchy, where the “supermen/women” will once again subjugate the masses.
In summary, we are lost without the Constitution, and the Constitution doesn’t work without God.
Well said, but I'm not optimistic. The left views the Constitution as an outdated document to be largely ignored, and they HATE Judaeo-Christian morality.
It is time to take America back!
