UPSTATE SOCIAL CONSERVATIVE CITES IMMIGRATION ISSUE
Michelle Wiles one of the Palmetto States most influential conservative activists is leaving the South Carolina leadership team of Ted Cruz and joining the campaign of Donald Trump, sources close to both campaigns told us this week.
The Upstate social conservative widely known and respected in evangelical circles had been one of Cruzs most articulate, well-connected South Carolina supporters.
Now her support will go to The Donald.
If this scenario sounds familiar, it should
This isnt the first time an influential female Cruz supporter has gone over to Trumps team and it may not be the last.
Wiles, who hails from Pickens County, S.C., is best known for her aggressive opposition to a controversial refugee resettlement program which has been supported by S.C. governor Nikki Haley (an ardent Trump critic). In fact Wiles filed a cease-and-desist motion last year seeking to block the U.S. State Department from implementing the program which Haleys administration has funded with state tax dollars against the expressed will of the S.C. General Assembly.
Wiles cited the immigration issue as one of her reasons for choosing Trump.
For months I have been leading the fight on the refugee resettlement issue here in South Carolina and as much as I respect Senator Cruzs positions on immigration and a host of other issues, I believe Donald Trump will be a far better advocate for securing our borders and putting a stop to immigration policies that endanger our families and our future solvency, Wiles said in a statement.
Wiles statement added that her choice for president was always going to be one of the anti-establishment options.

PING
rats jumping form a sinking ship
You go girl. We women know what the right thing to do is.
Thank you BFAC!
Trump better have somebody keep an eye on this one - watch your back Donald!
They don’t like working for a creepy, lying, slithering snake in the grass, he probably has tried to get her in the sack, so she left...I think that is why Pierson left the Cruz campaign...she does great for Trump...
Good to hear more people are waking up and seeing what a slime jackass he is!!!
Every time lately that I see Cruz, he just seems smarmier and more smug. I started out a Cruz supporter, but no more.
“Donald Trump will be a far better advocate for securing our borders and putting a stop to immigration policies that endanger our families and our future solvency, Wiles said in a statement.”
This is from a member of the “South Carolina leadership team of Ted Cruz” so she knows what she is talking about.
Trump will do a far better job than Cruz in securing the border. Trump will do a far better job in stopping immigration policies that put our families at risk.
Great pickup by the Trump campaign .
Cruz doesn’t even seem interested in securing the border. And women are starting to recognize a creeper when they see him.
Yep. He has greatly changed - even in appearance.
She might be great, but trust takes a bit of time to be earned.
Good find! That is AWESOME!
Well I certainly don’t and never have trusted this Cruz idiot...I hope he rots in hell!!!
I see the Cruz campaign is starting to crumble
I guess declaring victory in an election where the party made sure that you won and the voters were told to screw off wasn’t the best campaign strategy
This was 100x worse then Trump’s retweet a few weeks ago (everyone has forgotten about that)
I was a Cruz Only supporter until I began taking Trump seriously. I didn’t dislike Cruz, I simply preferred Trump.
And I never put much stock in Trump’s ‘Lyin’ Ted’ routine, I figured it was just some sort of campaign nonsense.
But then I heard Cruz on Hannity today, and damn if he didn’t string together enough whoppers to make Hillary green with envy.
It was impressive for a connoisseur of the fine art of prevarication.
Interesting. Thanks for posting.
