But all of the rules could be changed?

Technically, yes. For example, the rules could be changed to enable delegates to immediately unbind themselves.

I don't know. If Cruz can pull out California, this one will look pretty similar, other than Trump getting the southeast. We'll have an even more consistent east/west split, with the other guy picking off a few here and there from the other guy's territory as did Ronald and Gerald.

First place by first-instance vote

BLUE Donald Trump     YELLOW Ted Cruz
RED Marco Rubio     GREEN John Kasich
    BLACK Uncommitted

I know that's going to sound horrible to some right now but if a true leftist ran as a republican (think somewhere to the left of kasich) and masses of democrats flocked to the GOP in every liberal state they could take over the party. That would be very bad.

In other words, exactly what's happening now.

Trump would have been an unstoppable candidate back in 1860 before the western states existed.

Pigs can now fly, and Ted Cruz is now willing to be the Establishment GOP candidate.

Let me say this again for those who haven’t read it.

There are no rules. Period.

Each convention passes a set of rules to govern the convention. Until the rules are passed by the whole convention, there are only guidelines.

You may have to explain it in crayon for the Trumpers...

So if the GOPe messes with the rules and shoves an establishment candidate in place of both Trump and Cruz -—

I sincerely hope that BOTH will pull out, let bygones be bygones, and form an independent Trump/Cruz ticket that should WIN even as a third party.

Leave the GOPe sitting among the balloons on the convention floor wondering what happened!!!

Cruz can handle the ground game and Trump can handle bad-mouthing the female reporters.

May I remind you, Sir, and all the rest of you Trump haters, that had not Mr. Trump entered this race, that Jed Bush would the the nominee; certainly the only candidate in the race by this point. And with this nomination, whoever was elected, Hillary or Jeb, the border would continue to be open to every last south American and Latin American who chose to come, not to mention every Haitian, every middle eastern terrorist, every Somali, and every other third worlder who had nothing to offer except huge families to feed and educate, and provide medical care for.

We would be embracing universal amnesty, disarmament, political correctness run amok, racial set asides, increased crime, the north American union, continued loss of jobs, our factories being sold overseas, decreased prosperity, increased taxes, worsening debasement of our culture, increased political corruption, loss of our sovereignty which soon will be forever lost, and likely Sharia law.

Your anointed one, Mr. Ted Cruz, who you image is going to save the constitution and break the Washington cartel, would be entirely out of the picture because the Joyful Tortoise would have dispatched him the minute he might have appeared to be a threat to his nomination, using the Article II, I, 5 clause of the Constitution, and put an end once and for all to this ridiculous nonsense that a man born in Canada to a Cuban/Canadian father is natural born, because it would be to his advantage to do so, just as it is to the GOP-establishment advantage for now to pretend that it is meaningless.

So just stop with the slander about Donald Trump and get down on your knees and thank God that He inspired Donald Trump to get into this race, and has given Trump the toughness to withstand the abuse that has been heaped upon him from Day #1, and in His Mercy has given our beloved country once last chance to save ourselves from the amoral socialist globalists who are endeavoring to destroy her although she — and we — do not deserve it — if we have the vision to see it and the gratitude and the sense and the courage to do so!

I am really beginning to think that our Presidential Election is going to be decided by a “Yo Momma” competition on Comedy Central.
