I thought about that number. Let’s say that there are 55,000 students at Ohio State University and that half are women (27,500). If 20% are raped then that means more than 5,500 women get raped at Ohio State University. Even if one a small percentage were reported to the police, there would be so many rapes happening every week that everyone would know rape victims. Women would cease going to the university in a matter of weeks. Seriously, if it got out that several hundred women were raped over several months at a university, how many women would enroll in that university?
The 1 out of 5 number is IMPOSSIBLE. Every university would close in a matter of weeks.
Let me look at it in a slightly different way. You did an excellent analysis.
Start with a college with 8000 female students distributed equally among the four years.
2000 freshmen
2000 sophomores
2000 juniors
2000 seniors
Now assume that 20% of women are raped each year again evenly distributed among the four years.
400 freshmen
400 sophomores
400 juniors
400 seniors
Now an important assumption each woman is only raped once during her four years and each class size remains at 2000 with no transfer students, dropouts etc. As a women progress from freshmen year to senior year, 1600 members of her class of 2000 are raped, or 80% of a graduating class has been raped. Of course those numbers are very unlikely.

I wholeheartedly agree with you and your preceding point. I will only add, that IF you were completely wrong AND IF the leftists were completely right in their claims...then we would have higher incidences of rape occurring on our college campuses than was happening in RAWANDA during their bloody civil war.
That is how wrong they are and how right you are.
