Donald Trump Could Be Headed For A Catastrophic General Election Defeat by Jack Mirkinson

April 3, 2016 T Donald Trump could be headed towards a catastrophic general election defeat if he becomes the Republican presidential nominee, according to a host of recent polling and analysis.

There were gasps on Friday when the University of Virginia’s Larry Sabato posted new projections showing that Trump could lose the Electoral College vote to Hillary Clinton 347-191.

Sabato is not alone in forecasting such a wipeout. Trump is trailing both Clinton and Bernie Sanders by double digits in some national polls.

This is a meanings comparison. Demographics have changed over 30 years that as columnist Mona Charen has written, today even Reagan won’t be able to carry California. Besides, Carter’s polls tanked after the rescue mission to free the hostages went down in flames, literally.

If Trump becomes the nominee, Hillary will win in a landslide and you can say goodbye to our free republic.

I think a slightly revised title might be more accurate:

“Hillary Clinton Could Be Headed For A Catastrophic General Election Defeat against Republican Donald Trump”

Wrong. Marked for the night of November 8.

He's the governor of my state and he signed off on a law that turned Ohio into a shall issue national firearms act state. that means, if you want a silencer or a machine gun or any other NFA list controlled item, your chief of police or county sheriff has no choice but to sign off on your form 4. before, they could and usually would refuse to sign it and thereby, imposed a defacto ban on NFA items in Ohio (unless you were one of the special people of course).

That same law also legalized hunting with suppressed weapons, made it so Ohio would honor the concealed carry permit of any other state, decreased the requirements to obtain a concealed carry permit in Ohio, and eliminated the NICS background check for CCW permit holders. It was one of the, if not the most pro-second amendment laws I have ever seen passed. It was almost certainly the most pro-second amendment laws ever passed in Ohio.

Do you think Hillary would have signed off on that bill?

Polls mean nothing this time around.

Funny, no candidate in the history of politics has talked more about his poll numbers than Donald J. Trump. He must think they mean something.

Did you ever stop to think that not everybody has a positive response to Trump’s banality and obnoxiousness?

What appeals to the Trump followers is a major turn-off to most Americans.

Sometime in the intervening 16 years, Trump became fully pro-life. You can say you don’t believe him. . . .

I can say I have reason not to trust him. Here is Ducking Donald dodging and deflecting when asked about his views on late-term abortion. This was on January 28 of this year:

Trump freaks out when asked about abortion again

>Add the total votes for everyone, but Trump and the total Trump vote and then get back to me.

Trump’s running at 37% in a 3 way race. That’s winning percentage in the vast majority of 3 way races. Ted on the other hand is sitting at 28% which is never a winning percentage in a 3 way race. Ted’s only doing as well as he is because the GOP is tacking on the delegates in his favor and has won a bunch of delegates from contests where the voters were not allowed to vote for a presidential candidate.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Results_of_the_Republican_Party_presidential_primaries,_2016

Bad news for Ted is the party can’t steal votes for him in the general election.

The election is shaping up like this: If Trump can get out of the primaries he’ll destroy Hillery with cross over votes and an American first platform vs her globalist garbage machine. If Ted gets out of the primaries he’ll be destroyed by voters who think he’s a preachers and the vast majority of people who don’t give a damn about his “consistent” conservative act. Ted doesn’t have a thing to run on that will appeal to the average voter.

Kasich also made the statement “God Bless illegal immigrants”. Does that sound conservative to you? He is a major advocate of amnesty and for importing more “refugees”.

Illegal immigration is THE issue of this election. It’s possibly our most important issue, ever. Any candidate who supports amnesty is unelectable.

Kasich also supports gay marriage, declaring it the law of the land.

If Kasich were President, he would be constantly reaching across the aisle. He is Establishment at its worst. I would NEVER vote for him.

The only thing going for him is that he isn’t involved in a sex scandal and facing impeachment, like my governor is.

LOL, You think Cruz is going to do something for you on abortion? He had the opportunity and he punted. Oh wait, maybe he can’t get enough other gop’ers to go along.

Be clear, this is nothing but an issue to keep folks voting for him. Much like LBJ’s famous line.

You think Cruz is going to do something for you on abortion?

Yes, I do. I trust Cruz to nominate SC justices who will uphold the Tenth and First Amendments. I trust Cruz to protect the religious liberty of American citizens who object to abortion. I trust Cruz to defund Planned Barrenhood. I do not trust the non-con Trump on any of the social issues.

That's exactly what your guy Trump said also. Trump is not a conservative.

For the record, Trump has consistently promised justices who will be pro-life and says he will defund Planned Parenthood until they cease doing abortions. He hasn’t wavered on those things.

Ultimately, the real answer to abortion is a Human Life Amendment, but that’s done through Congress and the states. So far, we’ve had no one really push for that. It’s sad.

I’m praying that the delegates have the opportunity and the courage to block Trump at the convention and nominate Cruz. I’m praying that they have the courage to stand up to the implicit threats of lawsuits and bodily harm coming from Trump and his goon squad. That is the only way to save America from a complete leftist takeover by the Democrats.

Polls mean nothing this time around.

So you agree your candidate spends half his speeches talking about meaningless nothings? Well, at least half.
