"I am the second choice of both the Cruz people and also the Trump people.” That is a fairly easy thing to say if there are only three candidates remaining in the race and you are in third place and the supporters of those in first and second naturally are bitter enemies.
I personally will vote Libertarian rather than vote for Kasich. So he is not my second choice.

Cruz is unsupportable, Kasich is nearly invisible, and voting for either of the Democrat socialists is unthinkable. Once the candidate of the people has been eliminated, who is there to vote for?
