Gap actually apologized for an ad that people called racist because it features a white model leaning on a black model and, apparently, thats saying that all black girls can do is bear the weight of White [sic] girls. Here are just a few of the Tweets expressing the outrage over the ad:

And here is Gaps apology: As a brand with a proud 46 year history of championing diversity and inclusivity, we appreciate the conversation that has taken place and are sorry to anyone weve offended,
Gap spokeswoman Debbie Felix said in a statement to Fortune. So . . . why did Gap apologize? Because someone was offended, of course! These days, whenever someone gets offended, it seems as though its just automatically expected that the offender will apologize, no matter how ridiculous the offended person or groups actual complaint may be. And, usually, offenders fulfill that expectation regardless of the reality of the situation.
I understand that Gaps apology was intended to make people feel better, but the fact that it said sorry is more of a cause for outrage than that ad itself. After all, apologizing for ridiculous complaints only prompts more. The ad features four girls from the traveling circus company Le Petit Cirque.
Knew this.
[[I would develop a soothing cream to treat micro-agressions like this.]]
What color would the cream be? Huh? Huh? What color? Huh?
Right. The sheen reflected from those hairless pates is blinding.
Or any TV series depicting the negro man as the boss and the white guy as a sniveling toady.
The general is a negro. The police chief is a negro. The white guy is lucky he gets the role as the underling.
And they segregate themselves by having a negro TV network and crowning a ‘Miss Black USA’ pageant.
LOL!
I guess it would have to be a clear gel. I hope that wouldn’t offend albinos.
I saw the Nationwide commercial and thought the same thing. Another is from Gerber College Savings. 4 couples gathered around a table. The 3 white couples are in despair because they haven’t started a college fund. The black couple is well on their way though and have advise for the 3 honkeys.
