Buy a clue.
Both the Primary vote and the General Election vote are defined as a DEMOCRATIC process.
The DEMOCRATIC process (and GUNS) sustain the REPUBLIC.
We remain a REPUBLIC only so long as we vote DEMOCRATICALLY and win the majority of electoral votes.
In a republic, we wouldn’t be voting so damn much and about so many things. The root in Latin from Roman times reffered to public property something limited compared to private property. The res public could deal with public but not private property.
I look at the article and shake my head and then I read the thread comments (not necessarily yours) and I feel no better.
"It has been observed that a pure democracy if it were practicable would be the most perfect government. Experience has proved that no position is more false than this.
The ancient democracies in which the people themselves deliberated never possessed one good feature of government. Their very character was tyranny; their figure deformity."Alexander Hamilton
Speech in New York, urging ratification of the U.S. Constitution (1788-06-21)
Like perhaps many others here, I'd like Bernie Sanders to get the Demagogic Party nomination -- but it's adorable how optimistic and naive his camp followers are, believing that with each victory he's closing in. The superdelegates will not support him unless Hitlery drops out or dies.
We The People have OUR means of election as called out in that little pesky thing called The U.S. Constitution.
It is the BACON-WRAPPED SHRIMP CLUB, THE GOOD OL’ BOYS CLUB, THE CLUB THAT SAYS ‘WE ARE’ AND ‘YOU ARE NOT’ IN CHARGE.
THEY WRITE THEIR OWN RULES, not pursuant to the U. S. Constitution.
Democratic countries i.e. England/Italy/France are constantly voting for a new parliament, sometimes every six months or so or when who’s ever in power doesn’t get a vote of confidence they hold new elections.
If it was a total democratic process, the few states with huge populations would always control who’d be president. The fact, as you state, we’d remain a republic if we vote democratically is because of the electoral vote which incidentally Hillary wants to do away with.
lol. You're so cute when you believe things like this.
Well the way 0bama has been trashing our rights ... yeah.
True. A dilemma, I admit.
There's a LAW in this country called the Posse Commitatus that essentially means that the Regular army isn't allowed to be sent against American civilians.
But in what way is it different for a sitting President to order his appointed Attorney General to have her appointed FBI Director have his Hostage Rescue Team receive training from the Green Beret's, Planning from Delta force, Weaponry, vehicles and gear from the US Army and all of them being sent against civilians who disagreed with the govt but were as of yet, no danger to anyone but themselves.
Then they had this "non-military" group of thugs run an APC (essentially a mini tank) into a building over and over to TERRORize the people inside and finally the shaking building knocks over a fire lamp (which was lit because again against the law, the FedGov cut off the utilities that the people in the compound were consistantly paying for!) Of course, then the FedGovs were able to blame the people inside for setting the fires. And this of course, was on top of the propaganda that they were abusing the children inside, with no proof of the matter.
This was Clinton and Reno.
But don't you kid youself, if the FedGov wants to get you, they'll send in 4,000 tanks and half a million troops to do it. The Constitution, like the citizens of this country are important only until they become inconvenient, then the FedGov will do whatever it takes to get them out of the way.
Sorry for the rant :)
Godspeed
“Especially relevant with what’s going on in Colorado right now.”
And Indiana. The GOPe can go to hell in my book.
Not a problem. Waco was an eye opener and so was Ruby Ridge. The FBI sniper was exonerated.
The USA was FOUNDED as a republic and the founders warned us against the evils of democracy as well they should have but in truth what we have now is in its effects an oligarchy which seems to be the end result of all attempts to establish a just government.
