Question: From our observations, Ted Cruz is receiving significant support from the Objectivist online community. Some say they support him because, while flawed, he's still the most principled pro-freedom candidate available. Others explicitly support him only because he's not Donald Trump. This is coming from a community that has historically identified religion as the gravest threat to the culture, to the point that key Objectivist intellectuals endorsed voting Democrat in 2004 and 2008. Yet now that the Republicans have a viable non-religious candidate, Trump has morphed into the new gravest threat to America.
The mental gymnastics we've seen to justify this position have been truly astounding and suggest some visceral emotion is driving the anti-Trump/pro-Cruz response. As long-time Objectivists ourselves, it's disturbing to us to see this coming from a community with a professed commitment to reason. What do you think is the root of this response to Trump, and what does it mean for the hope of turning the culture toward true commitment to reason?
That guy is GOOD!
“while flawed, he’s still the most principled pro-freedom candidate available”
Ted “A Time For Truth” Cruz is in bed frantically fornicating with establishment elitists and cannot any longer claim to be “the only principled candidate in the race”.
Thanks for the post. Love Stephan.
>>>That guy is GOOD!
Stefan does produce some really good videos.
That’s only obvious to those with open eyes and minds....
#NeverTrump is rational. To not go there is like an abused person who keeps returning to his/her abuser because he keeps promising to change. Those who return need counseling. Those who don’t are rational.
Washington’s corrupt Old Boys know they can’t count on Trump to play the game by their rules and maintain the degenerate status quo, so they’re doing everything they can to take him down.
Ya Think?
"Fact-checking Donald Trump is like picking up after a dog with diarrhea."

No, I'm good. That guy is boring.
What is most amusing to me is the contortions “strict constitutionalists” are putting themselves through to advance changing natural born citizen from born here of citizen parents to simply born a citizen.
While it may help their guy, it damages the nation.
The requirement protected the nation from usurpers until Obama, it should be plainly obvious the framers were right to restrict the Presidency to those who can ONLY be US citizens and nothing else.
Born here of citizen parents
Natural born citizen
You post this on an article suggests an irrational hatred for Trump... hilarious.
The exact opposite. Trump supporters are constantly being abused by others, saying we’re racist when we’re not, saying we’re sexist when we’re not. Thats why we joined Trump. To join Cruz and others is to join the abusers who have become the Social Justice Warriors
For those who believe Trump’s wealth is a problem
I’d respectfully remind folks that, with just a few exceptions, the men who crafted and signed the Declaration of Independence and our Constitution were near the TOP OF THE SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC SCALE for their time!
Like Trump, nearly all were motivated by their desire for FREEDOM from a despotic tyrant. Most of them paid DEARLY for their rebellion. Near the end of his life, Jefferson’s absence from his beloved Monticello caused his finances to be so damaged that Congress offered to purchase his magnificent and extensive library. That purchase was the nucleus for today’s Library of Congress.
If you do not know the history of the prices paid by those architects of the freedoms we today take for granted and are in the process of allowing to be taken away by the tyrants of today their stories are at the link below. Please take the time to review them!
As the authors of this site comment, some of these stories may or may not be completely accurate. That said, it’s safe to say that their lives would have been far less difficult if they had to use the language of many of the tyrants now infesting the Beltway and other power centers in 2016 simply Gone along to Get along. And we’d probably STILL be singing Hail to the Queen.

Speaking of Crus, “while flawed, he’s still the most principled pro-freedom candidate available”........
The author should explain exactly why Trump draws so many huge crowds at his rallies than Cruz does. I’m listening
You and your tribe are the only ones exhibiting ‘irrational hatred’ around here.
He’s controversial, a celebrity and a populist.
