Manafort joins the Trump campaign as a contested Republican convention becomes more likely. Trump suffered a critical loss to Texas Sen. Ted Cruz Tuesday in the Wisconsin primary. However, the strategist says he is confident the Cruz campaign will hit a rough patch, allowing Trump to win the 1,237 delegates needed to win the nomination outright.
"Utah and New York are two different states," he said. "By the time we get to California, the momentum is going to be clear, and Ted Cruz's path to victory will be in shambles."

All Trump needs to do is crack open the checkbook and make Manafort very happy over the next few months. It’s been an amazing trip thus far and the Trump Train is rolling, but now it’s time for a professional convention manager to take across the finish line with all delegates aboard.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard any of Trump’s employees call him “Donald” in an interview before, rather than “Mr. Trump”.

Sometimes even overwhelming is not enough, and with vastly deeper pockets than almost anybody else around, a little sugar passed out in the right places can do wonders.
