But a sweep there might not matter. That’s because as many as 34 delegates — the entire contingent — may be free to back whomever they want at the Republican National Convention.
Much the same is true in Pennsylvania, home to a hotly contested April 26 primary, where there are 57 uncommitted delegates. Other states and territories, from Colorado to Wyoming to Guam, will also send squads of unbound representatives.
These are the swing voters of the GOP nominating contest, nearly 200 activists and elected leaders beholden to nothing except their personal judgment and empowered to make or break candidacies.

It will actually be quite the event if we witness a contested convention. Good old fashioned bare knuckle politics. Last time there was one, Reagan narrowly lost to Gerald Ford. Back in the day, when news took a week to get from one shore to the other, virtually all nominating conventions were contested. In the end, I will support the most conservative candidate left standing, because I am sure as hell not voting for Hillary or Bernie.
The committed delegates are bound to vote for their state winner on the first ballot. Their votes are counted for the state winner whether they speak up or voice another name. If Trump has the 1237 or better, he will win and be the nominee. You can stop dreaming now.
I guess we will find out if either Cruz or Trump really loves the Constitution and the country.

Rule 23 seems to indicate that challenges have to be filed 30 days before the Convention convenes. Trump supporters in Tenn have charged some skullduggery in the state party naming of delegates.
Rule 16 is quite long and detailed but it would be a good read for anyone interested in delegate selection, binding, and other issues regarding delegates. Just as an example, the issue of a rouge delegate attempting to vote contrary to his legal obligation is addressed.
Guess the reality that Trump was busy building things escaped you - only those entrenched in the game of thrones aka politics, would be enamored with the parlor games played over and over - so unlike you, I see that as a plus for Trump, the true outsider who didn’t spend his life on the government teet, playing the sick game of rearranging the deck chairs.
It's not a "plus" that he didn't take the time to learn the election process. That has nothing to do with inexperience....or being an "outsider"....... that shows a lack of commitment.
If that's how he plans to run the country....then it's better we learn that now........before he gets into the White House.

If Trump shows up in Cleveland with 1237+ delegates, it's Game Over. If he doesn't, then he should be lobbying hard for these 200. This news is in Trump's favor, yet his followers in this thread are overcome with hysteria. Critical thought seems to have gone by the wayside with this bunch.
Good grief, man. Get a hold of yourself. Put your damn emotions on hold for a second and think. If Trump comes up short of 1237 at the Convention, there are 200 uncommitted delegates that could go his way. What in the hell is wrong with you Trump supporters?
