Paul Manafort to Head Donald Trump’s New Washington, D.C. Office

GOP frontrunner Donald Trump’s new hire Paul Manafort, who recently joined the campaign to help organize delegate and convention strategy, will be heading Trump’s Washington, D.C. office.

Manafort, who has worked for 40 years as a lobbyist and political consultant, hasn’t lived full-time in Washington D.C. for years, according to the Washington Post. He instead travels between Alexandria, Virginia; Florida; and New York, where he has an apartment in Trump Tower.

“But despite his low inside-the-Beltway profile, no one underestimates Manafort as a formidable opponent who is unafraid to go to the mat for controversial, polarizing clients,” the Post reports. “The Trump job marks his re-emergence onto the U.S. political scene, one longtime friend said.”

“He’s going to be a major influence on Trump,” said the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s senior political strategist Scott Reed, who is also a longtime friend of Manafort

Manafort added:

Securing the Republican nomination is an intricate series of steps that requires a comprehensive strategy. As part of the campaign team, my job is to secure and protect Mr. Trump’s nomination and that is what we will do. In this regard, I will be working closely with Mr. Lewandowski and Mr. Glassner to ensure Mr. Trump’s nomination. I am honored that he has allowed me to join him in this effort. Mr. Trump has created a historic campaign that has moved the American people. He is on the verge of an incredible victory.

Wikipedia: "Paul J. Manafort is an American lobbyist and political consultant. He was an adviser to the presidential campaigns of Republicans Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bob Dole, and George W. Bush, and is currently employed by the presidential campaign of Donald Trump, as well as being a senior partner in the firm Davis, Manafort and Freedman."

So Trump is not only accepting help from the GOPe, he's HIRING them.

He’s hiring someone with excellent experience. What is your point?

Reagan was GOPe? Who knew?

At least he doesn’t have Neil Bush on his team.Think about that.

As a Loyalist, you scared?

Lets see, Trump hires someone with experience to counter the theft by you loyalists of his nomination, yet you loyalists ride the GOPe wave claiming your innocent.

We see how that goes.

Trump supporters are hypocrites. Any other candidate does something like this, we hear about how it "proves" they're a RINO, GOPe, etc. But when Trump does it, it's a "smart move" or some such thing.

Yep. Trump should have tapped someone from the secretarial pool to manage the campaign at the convention.

I can't believe he actually hired the best man for the job.

SERIOUSLY, you need to do more research on the “incident” and the personal, very questionable, history of the “accuser”.

Cruz will be out numerically by April 26, he will stay in because his GOPe puppet masters have made him a deal for some type of political reward for being a spoiler.Check out who supports him.

Cruz supporters are delusional if they can’t see how they have been duped.

Someone needs to keep Mr Manafort away from “accident-prone” “journalists”...

Trump can no longer attack GOPe... he’s become one.

Another point about Manafort ... he’s a sleaze and a Rusky.

He also worked from in Ukraine on the campaign of Viktor Yanukovych[7] even as the U.S. government (and McCain) opposed Yanukovych because of his ties to Russia’s Vladimir Putin.[3]Manafort was hired to advise Yanukovych months after massive street demonstrations known as the Orange Revolution overturned Yanukovych’s victory in the 2004 presidential race. [8] Borys V. Kolesnikov, Yanukovich’s campaign manager, said the party hired Manafort after identifying organizational and other problems in the 2004 elections, in which it was advised by Russian strategists.

That’s right, my support for Cruz ended when he hired Neil Bush for his finance advisor on his campaign. Just had to get a Bush in there somehow since Jeb was knocked out I guess. If anyone is unaware with how corrupt Neil Bush is, look up the savings and loan company he owned that cheated people out of millions then took a bailout.

I’d like any Cruz supporter to justify him hiring Neil Bush and still maintaining his outsider status. If anyone has a logical explanation why he couldn’t have gotten anyone else besides a Bush for this position, I’d love to hear it.

It’s a desperation hire.

Corey has proven to be a disaster. Trump’s campaign staff was in total disarray.

Manaport has very questionable ties to Russia.

Maybe Neil Bush is a good finance adviser. Cruz isn’t allowed to hire the best?

That’s right, my support for Cruz ended when he hired Neil Bush for his finance advisor on his campaign.

Then you need to renew your support for Cruz, because Cruz didn't "hire" Neil Bush. Bush is a volunteer, a bundler. He is a "member" of the national finance team, which means he has committed to spending serious time with his rolodex and raising a nice chunk of change for the campaign. He is not getting paid.

Bundlers sometimes end up with political appointments if their candidate wins the general election. If the bundler is already a heavyweight in his field, which is often the case, this is a natural appointment and many serve with distinction. If the bundler is mainly a political hustler, the appointment is sometimes a stretch. My seat of the pants sense from the last 20 years or so is that Democrats are worse offenders here than Republicans, but I don't think our hands are entirely clean either. God invented Swaziland and the Maldive Islands for a reason, mainly to give U.S. presidents somewhere harmless to send bundlers as ambassadors. When they send them to real countries, the snub is painful to behold.

Do not expect sanity from the little trumpers.

If he’d hired the devil, they would justify it.

Two strikes against Manaport according to former stances of the trumpers ... he could not be more GOPe,

And he’s gotten mixed up with some really dirty stuff in Russia.

But Trump hired him, so it’s all good.
