Laz, America decided to allow a few to erase the taboo structure of our Republic. Just fifty years ago, if someone erected a statute of Baphomet with children adoring him the next day it would be rubble. Fifty years ago a woman went to an OB-GYN for medical saving which sometimes involved in terminating a pregnancy that was doomed, dooming the mother. Fifty years ago a Texas criminal politician rose to power by manipulating black people, even before a majority of black children grew up in homes with no male around. Fifty years ago Americans were patriotic without shame, and it was a sign of maturity to be self-reliant and responsible for your behavior. Fifty years ago, America still had a taboos structure to society, albeit the façade was already starting to crumble, by design.
Good post. Self reliance has gone by the wayside. When I was growing up no one looked to the government to solve our problems. Through insidious indoctrination in government schools we have a generation of miseducated youth who have no knowledge of history
Yup, that is the bottom line. Lack of decent people as a % of society. There’s reasons all these things are going down now and not 50 years ago, and that’s simply because they know they can get away with it.
I think a lot of folks were fooled by positive signs like the marriage amendment success rates of the 2000s. But when you think about it, that they even had to do that was a terrible sign. And there’s not one state that would now pass a marriage amendment by more than it originally passed. The ones that only passed in the 50-60% ranges might not pass at all, now.
