Trump Whines and Whines Until He Loses
Townhall.com ^ | April 6, 2016 | Ben Shapiro

Posted on 04/06/2016 2:50:23 PM PDT by Kaslin

On Tuesday night, Senator Ted Cruz, R-TX, won a sweeping victory over 2016 Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump in Wisconsin. Cruz won virtually every demographic, nearly 50 percent of the vote and the vast bulk of the delegates. It's becoming increasingly clear that Trump could fail to reach the necessary 1,237 delegates in order to win the nomination outright on the first ballot at the convention. If so, there's no way he wins the nomination at all.

That's because Trump has made himself radioactive.

If Trump had disappeared from the American political scene after his big win in Arizona, he'd have wrapped up the nomination by now. Instead, he defended his lying campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, after Lewandowski was charged with battery for allegedly grabbing, yanking and bruising a reporter; tweeted nastily about Heidi Cruz's looks; repeatedly suggested that Cruz had violated federal law without evidence; trotted out surrogates to slander anti-Trump women as Cruz's adulteresses; flipped his abortion position four times in less than three days; found himself on the short end of the interview stick with a Wisconsin radio host; labeled health care, housing and education as key functions of the federal government; accused the Republican National Committee and state delegations of attempting to "steal" the nomination from him by engaging in traditional delegate politics; and stated that he would likely select Supreme Court justices who would investigate Hillary Clinton's email server, for starters.

The more Trump talks, the worse he sounds.

Now, Trump's supporters keep saying he's just learning the ropes. After all, he's never run for political office before, so a few hiccups are to be expected. But Trump continues to demonstrate a complete inability to learn. After losing Wisconsin, did Trump turn down his "Spinal Tap" speakers from volume 11 to 8? Of course not. He turned the volume up to 12 with a campaign statement that bragged that Trump's 13-point blowout at Cruz's hands was actually a big win in which he "withstood the onslaught of the establishment yet again." The statement also stated openly, and without evidence, that Cruz had illegally coordinated with his super PACs, and slammed Cruz as being "worse than a puppet -- he is a Trojan horse, being used by the party bosses attempting to steal the nomination from Mr. Trump."

Trump's campaign is flailing because it's not a campaign; it's a self-produced vanity reality TV special. Trump didn't bother to learn the delegate rules because he couldn't be bothered to do so. He doesn't bother to learn the ins and outs of his own policies because, hey, why bother when people flock to you for shouting slogans about building walls? Last month, he fired his data team manager and elevated the second in command. But the second in command apparently doesn't know politics, or even how to access the data itself.

But don't worry: Trump has a very good brain and hires all the best people.

By the time of the Republican National Convention, Trump will be 70-years-old. Sadly, he has significantly less self-control than my 2-year-old daughter. He's spent his entire life being handed things: money, fame, female companionship. Now he can't understand why he's not being handed the nomination. So, like Veruca Salt in "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory," he'll scream.

It won't work. Trump joked months ago that his strategy was to "keep whining and whining until I win." But now he's beginning to lose. And the whining won't stop anytime soon.

“Cruz won all delegates?”

“the vast bulk of the delegates” is what was written and that is accurate.

“Doesn’t change the fact that she describes Cruz-bots to a t.”

We'll build a wall, Mexico will pay for the wall........wait they won't pay for the wall? Ok, we'll confiscate all money going back to Mexico.....wait, we can't do that either because the gov’t can't take money from individuals that don't exist? Ok, we'll pay for the wall.....wait, that will cost $8+B.......forget the wall. Tariffs!!!! We want tariffs! I'll make calls for a recession and then talk tariffs completely ignoring Smoot-Hawley!...........Yes! Yes! Cruz is Canadian!

Just another walk down 5th ave.

Trump’s losing was/is his own fault. He has major damage control problems if he expects to come back into the fold and ultimately take the nomination. It’s now going to be a lot more difficult.

Who cares what Coulter says anymore? I lost interest after she went gaga for Romney last time.

So she can never write anything of value again, because once she wrote something you didn’t like...

smh...

The past doesn't matter to Trump supporters - registered Democrat, donates to Schumer, for assault weapons ban, for Affirmative Action (still), for progressive taxes (still), for Universal health care (still).

Cruz is Canadian!

Cruz now must win a greater percentage of the remaining delegates than he did before Wisconsin.

He’s falling behind yet it’s touted as a great victory.

As I said, she can address the Cruz supporters all she wants.....her view on most everything is to be ignored via her Christie/Romney lovefest.......She's just backing another liberal.

She can call us what she wants. About 35% really care.

No Candidate has won 8 out of the last 10 States except Donald J. Trump.

List them.

Trump should do something he has never done: Debate Cruz 1 on 1 in a meaningful, issues-based debate. He should do this before he fails to get 1,237 delegates in the primary process resulting in a contested convention.

As you know, every other debate was a spectacle aimed at the “reality - pop culture” TV audience. Every other debate was purposed to raise ratings and revenue for whichever network was the sponsor.

Trump needs to show everyone that he has a detailed grasp of issues he will face when he is President. He needs to show everyone that he is not one-dimensional (”I’ll sue, it’s very big, you have a horse face, believe me, big wall, tweet-tweet, tariffs, excuse me, and I’m very rich”)

Trump needs to go one-on-one with Cruz to show off his over-powering understanding of economics, the bureaucracy, world history, US history, military strategy, current events, foreign policy, his political prowess, his grasp of judicial review, and his knowledge of the US Constitution and federal law.

It should go well for Trump - so why not?? He has nothing to lose and everything to gain.

One on one, Trump will have a chance to make Cruz look like an idiot, everyone will see it, and Trump will waltz to victory.

As an added bonus, he’ll strike fear in Hillary’s heart! She’ll get a taste of what she will face in a meaningful debate. During this Cruz debate, Trump can slip in a veiled warning to Hillary, I suggest “I haven’t even started on her yet” or something equally frightening.

Trump is so smart... I’m sure he knows this already. He’s probably just waiting for the right time to propose a real debate with Cruz (not like these pansy debates we’ve seen already.)

Just read Ann Coulter’s column today.

Ann “The Man” just loves Trump until her lover-boy Romney gets the nomination!

I voted for Mitt last time because I wanted to stop Obama and “it was the right thing to do.” Guess what. That ain’t gonna happen again. If Cruz or some other GOPe hack is the nominee this year i’ll be doing something else on election day other than voting. You can take that to Goldman Sachs.

I think the little trumpers have re-grouped.

They were a quiet bunch this morning but maybe the prospect of a Trump rally today has energized them.

I thought Trump would disappear for a while but, of course, rallies don’t involve any pesky questions.

Trump should tell Cruz where to shove his one-on-one debate. The politicians who are losing at the ballot box and in the opinion polls always whine and posture about more debates.

There have already been too many debates, or so-called debates.

You tRump supporters really do have an average mental age of a 5 year old.

Which puts them about 3 years more mature than the vast majority of your own comments
