Speaking of Grandpa Munster ...
The Myths and Politics of Grandpa Munster by Kliph Nesteroff.
Some funny stuff in there.
There are two surefire ways to start a fight in America: you can call someone a socialist or you can call someone a liar. Al Lewis, known to millions of television viewers as Grandpa Munster, was both. Had Al Lewis ever written an autobiography, it most certainly would have been marketed as a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure book. Lewis was an outspoken progressive, a chronic cigar smoker and a life-long social activist. He was also an expletive-laced teller of tall tales, embellishing every facet of his life...
I liked the Macy’s parade story, with Fred Guinn being schnockered and yelling FU at Lorne Greene.
Whoa, no kidding!
I just read what Cboldt posted above, and I had no idea that Al Lewis was such a liar, or an unabashed socialist (the two not being mutually exclusive).
